One thing I like to do is to create “Franken-shadows”. I don’t do this all the time. But I do this a lot when I have shadows I don’t love and am having issues using up or when I have shadows that I’m bored of. Doing this has helped me really expand my eyeshadow collection because I find that I don’t really ever go through entire eyeshadows so if I can scrape out a small amount and mix with other colors to create new colors I can expand my collection without having to buy more.
@laurenolson45533 жыл бұрын
Do you repress them? Or make loose shadows? My eyes hate shadows repressed with alcohol ( any tips).
@alexandra1093 жыл бұрын
@@laurenolson4553 I repress them, but I don’t see why you couldn’t make loose shadows. Have you tried to repress a shadow just with water? If it is a small amount, it might work. I would try to do with as little water as possible and it would take much longer to dry. But alcohol is just used because it evaporates fast. Might be worth a test with something you don’t care losing if it doesn’t work.

I keep those little containers also, sanitize them, and use them to store skincare samples I'm trying ; it's more hygienic than leaving a foil packet ripped open, and by squeezing out every drop, I get to really use & test them.

I've been lucky with my colourpop super shock shadows - all of mine have lasted well over 2-3 years! But I've definitely revived other shadows (like the Stila glitter and glow ones) using eye drops. 🙂 I still need to master getting stoppers out - they give me such a hard time!

I've never considered opening up toothpaste but considering how cruelty free toothpastes are usually more expensive than conventional ones, I might start doing that!

I'm totally going to use the eyedrop hack on this Maybelline cream shadow that dried out on me! Looking forward to being able to use that one again because it was really pretty when I got it then it dried to the point where I have to swirl a brush in there for a literal minute to get a tiny bit of pigment out of it. Thank you for the great hacks!

I have a TON of squeezie tube things for toothpaste, lotion, etc. Love them! I also cut the tube open when it's squeezed up all the way. I still haven't mastered taking out stoppers with tweezers. All I do is destroy it in the tube.
@SarahRoseBeauty3 жыл бұрын
Maybe try using needle nosed pliers to remove the stopper if you haven’t already! I’ve heard it can be easier!

I cut open tubes of things and keep all my finished pots to fill so I have a stash like you of different sizes that way I don't waste things and then you can really stretch your dollar. Also use those metal pusher things to put product out of stubborn tubes. Honestly those are my best which you mentioned and project panning is a good way to make you appreciate what you have instead of wanting to just keep buying more.

after you use the eye drops to the eyeshadows do you have to let it dry over night or anything or can you use them when you need them after applying the eye drops?

Yes thank you!! People keep saying mascaras are only good for 3M when they have 6M printed on them! And the expiration label is always way to early than the actual date of the makeup going bad. So it is a minimum of 6M for me. Y'all waste your mascars as much as you want😂🤦🏻♀️

Don't use preservative free eye drops in makeup, tho. This should go without saying, but I'm sure there's someone out there that wouldn't understand why or forget to check what kind they have. I use preservative free drops because they come in a regular bottle now although, slightly different to maintain their freshness. They work better for my severely dry eyes but preservative free means that you have to use the bottle correctly (it has instructions, you basically have to shake it in long arcs to get any extra liquid off) so none of the liquid remains on the bottle each time you use it and it wouldn't be safe to use in makeup, either.

After I repress my shadow smells like alcohol is it normal? 😅 great video I love this 😍❤️
@SarahRoseBeauty3 жыл бұрын
Hmm it shouldn’t leave behind a smell after it’s evaporated!! It also helps to use a high % rubbing alcohol (around 90%) Are you leaving it open to dry for a few hours?

@SarahRoseBeauty3 жыл бұрын
It’s kind of confusing, they are Peta certified but both Logical Harmony and Cruelty Free Kitty say they aren’t 😕
@Brilliantnash3 жыл бұрын
Inglot is an European brand and cruelty free and vegan, so you can buy and use Duraline instead of eye drops. Within the EU, testing on animals is prohibited. For repressing matte eyeshadows I can highly recommend the dry press method from @facesbygina here on YT and Instagram. Works much butter than with alcohol.
@SarahRoseBeauty3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, just because they are a European brand that doesn’t automatically make them cruelty free. This blog post from cruelty free kitty explains why they may not be 100% CF: www.crueltyfreekitty.com/news/does-inglot-test-on-animals/
