​@@416ixThat's a common misconception that I often read. The animals in Kevin's care don't see him as food. He often hangs out with them before they are fed, and it doesn't change their behaviour towards him. He even carries a bag of meat to give them incentive when he need them to do something, and they never try to reach the bag, they wait for him to throw the chunks. If he is attacked one day, it won't be because they're hungry but because he didn't respect their space, ignored their signs of irritation, or something like that. Kevin himself says that despite doing this for 25 years they're wild animals and he might make a mistake some day. But it won't be because they're hungry.

@@416ix And why exactly would we do that ? Just for the fun of enjoying a blood bath ? If you put several living creatures in a cage and starve them, whether they are lions, rabbits or humans, they will eventually end up killing and eating each other. Which is why we tend not to do it... Believe it or not, lions don't go around killing their friends. There must be a serious reason for them to kill a member of their pride, and Kevin is very careful not to give them one. For example, they are well fed. (Lions don't like the taste of human flesh anyway, so they would have to be quite desperate to eat it). So, as I said in my previous comments, yes, these animals are wild and dangerous and an accident is possible. But if it happens, it won't be because they're hungry.

And in this video, they're actually going on a enrichment walk in his sanctuary. So yeah, basically that's the equivalent of you going on a walk with your dog. 😅

You would be surprised with the number of times he interacts with them _before_ they're being fed. He sometimes say things like "Yeah, he's a little bit grumpy today because he's hungry" or "Well, it was a nice walk, they're happy and tired, now they're gonna get their meat because it's feeding day". Of course they're being taken care of very well, but the reason they don't attack him has nothing to do with food. A wild lion, even if it just ate, will still kill you on sight because you're a stranger on its territory. The reason Kevin can do that is because he's known these lions since they were cubs and they have accepted him in their pride. And, like humans, lions don't go around killing a members of their pride just because they're hungry or in a bad mood...
