Хорошее видео, удачи в развитии твоих колоний. Скажу главное что заметил в этом деле - это то что в самом начале ты всегда хочешь много разных колоний, но чем больше ты занимаешься муравьями, тем меньше ты хочешь разнообразия, в конце ты приходишь к 1-3 видам, которые ты хочешь содержать на постоянной основе. В моем случае это стали мессоры, так как они универсальные муравьи и раскрываются, когда становятся большой колонией.

Can be a choice. Im not sure if i want really big colonies......

The size of the colony is important. Get a species with 5000 tops. Do not start with tiny ones like acorn either. You don't want 100.000+ You don't want ones you kill super easy or escape easily. Messor Barbarus etc are easy and cheap to keep and offer variety. Camponotus Foreli are the same but run on honey and hunt more (but grow slower Just to give you an idea. Bigheads are small but the queen is too big to escape AND they bounce back fast. They are highly entertaining and don't need much space/food Just to name a few good starter options

@@TheCraftingAnt that's true. Oh btw. Just saying because many get that wrong but; there is no need to make Honey thin with water. Ants can still eat it. That's a myth coming from a faulty relay of an experiment made years ago ;)

Thing is that when they consume honey they a dehydrated a bit. So they need water next to it.
