The child being filmed looks around 4-5 years old which is the peak age for night terrors. It usually happens exactly 2-3 hrs after falling asleep, to the point the parent can almost tell by the clock. They probably wanted to record it for their doctor or maybe to prove the child is asleep and alone when it happens. It's utterly terrifying if you've never experienced it before. The child wakes up screaming in terror, runs around the room or tries to run out the door and can often injure themselves. If you're lucky, it only happens 3-4 times a year. If unlucky, every single night for months. It's related to sleepwalking and they have absolutely no memory of it the next day.

For anyone who thinks the first case is in any way "funny" or just youthful mischief: the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this footage was the Macdonald triad. It's often through such behaviors that we can identify serial killers whose personalities develop in the early years of life. Fascination with pyromania, various beliefs, seemingly funny but inherently "thrilling" behaviors - these are common patterns. Additionally, the information that bloody knives and animal body parts were found in the garage speaks for itself. I've been delving into the topic of serial killers, and honestly, this case terrified me immensely
@hoodedman65799 күн бұрын
I wouldn't call it "funny", exactly, but I will say that the emotion induced in me by the crazy kid's monologues is much closer to "cringe" than "fear". The fact that he committed arson didn't prevent him from coming across as just a stupid edgy teenager.
@JudesChan9 күн бұрын
A word of advice if you’re just getting into this- Just be careful when you read up on these things, the MacDonald Triad does not have great inter-rater reliability or validity. For all the studies that show a strong correlation between the MacDonald Triad & serial killers, there are just as many studies that show no correlation or insignificant results. The biggest issue around this is the reliance on self-reporting from the serial killers themselves. The data gathered is not empirical nor reliable, for example, in contrast, doctors suggest you may have DMII, so doc sends you to get blood tests done; results show elevated HbA1C & fasting glucose; three months later, repeat blood tests show same results, therefore you have DMII. We know a lot of serial killers are cunning & narcissistic, & depending on the situation, they’ll say whatever to get what they want.

I don’t want to seem overly critical, but as a meteorology nut and storm chaser, I thought I’d give some additional context to the El Reno video. 1. Meteorologists cannot predict a tornados severity or whether or not it will have multiple vortices as described here. 2. Tornados are assigned a rating of severity based on their damage done. Nothing else. El Reno was never “an EF5 tornado.” It was officially rated an EF3. This is due entirely to it being in an open field and not impacting structures but it does matter for accuracy. Had it impacted well built structures, it almost certainly would have earned a higher rating on the Enhanced Fujita scale. 3. Paul and Tim Samaras were father and son, not brothers.

I remember watching a video that briefly talked about the incident in the second story. As soon as you said backpackers and 1987, I knew it was gonna be this plane wreckage story. I watched the whole footage one time, and it’s still creepy knowing that those two guys would be recording their last flight ever. Glad the two backpackers stumbled upon the wreckage, gave the families of the two guys some closure at least

The first case is a good example of "Less is more." It would legit sound creepy had it been just silence, sounds of breathing, or inaudible sounds coming from the footage. He sounded more like some angsty teen fantasizing himself as a villain, and the quiet yelling made me think of middle schoolers swearing on COD, all the while trying not to wake up their parents in the next room.

As someone who used to have really bad nightmares, I can 100% see a possibility that the parent was just recording the child to check up on them at night. Also, baby monitors. It’s not creepy to set up baby monitors, right? Baby monitors at the time were between 20-30 dollars, which was pretty expensive in the 90s. Recording could have definitely been their alternative for watching over their child.

That El Reno tornado really impacted my life. I was 7 or 8 back then and I lived in the town straight east from El Reno and I remember how the air felt during that day. That event got me interested in meteorology and now I’m in college pursuing that degree. Rest in Peace Twistex. Also slight edit, while the rating for that twister was originally an EF5, I believe it was lowered to an EF3 because the damage was more consistent with an EF3 than an EF5

I remember that 2013 Tornado. It took out a lot of my favorite places to go in Moore (where I lived at the time). Fortunately, it missed my own home, but it was so traumatic for everyone that lived in the area as basically everyone knew someone who had been affected. The main thing I remember is that it kept storming all night, and my father ended up using forklifts and other large machinery to help w search and rescue till past midnight. 15:30 I think you got the words radius and diameter mixed up. The El Reno tornado had a diameter of 2.6 miles. Edit: I also want to add that I think the Samaras family requested the footage be destroyed. Another storm chaser Dan Robinson was only about half a mile ahead of the Twistex team and they were captured by his rear dashcam. I believe Dan destroyed this footage as well out of respect for the team and their families. However, you can see the team driving past him multiple times in Dan’s video of his chase. Dan was driving into some strong headwinds which prevented him from accelerating away from the tornado. He was luckily able to get to safety due to the tornado’s left turn which allowed him to get past the outer wall of the tornado.

I really enjoy your videos, Straight forward with the facts, no filler, annoying music, or editorial comments. As a technical librarian and editor, I wanted to mention a few things to you for use in future videos. From previous videos, the "t" in "cabaret" is silent and the last "t" in "tarot" is silent as well. From this video, the "t" is pestle is also silent. You would think these words are from the same language, with all the silent "t" involved, but "tarot" is Italian, "cabaret" is French, and "pestle" is Latin, but the French and Italian are both romance languages descended from Latin, so they are very similar languages. I know the old expression goes "mind your p's and q's" but perhaps one should add to mind your t's as well.
