I lived in Italy ( northern) for over 2 years. I LOVE that country! You need to go north next time. Venice, Verona, Milan, Florence…. It’s all insane. Oh San Marino too which is it’s own country within the country.

I googled it and Italy has almost double the voltage of the USA (Italy has 230V as opposed to USA's 120V) so my guess is that hair dryers etc are more powerful in italy. (Italy has the same voltage as the UK so my assumption is that my hair dryer in Belfast UK would have the same power as one in Rome. The voltage is why if you've ever wondered why hotel bathrooms in London etc don't have sockets and why the bathroom light switches are either outside the bathroom or a pull cord. Its a building regulation over here since a shock from 230V would be a heck of a sight worse than a 120V shock so any bathroom sockets have to be specially designed and are only for electric toothbrushes and electric shavers as opposed to a hair dryer. Pull cord light switches are viewed as safer than switches in a bathroom due to the risk of your hands not being totally dry and sometimes people have them in their kitchens for the same reason, though that seems to be uncommon in newer buildings these days.) I've never been to the US but I've family members who have and they've said their straighteners were not as effective in the US and their phones, electric toothbrushes etc didn't charge as fast because UK to US travel adaptors have to dampen the voltage to US levels. I'd assume hat US to UK adaptors have something in them to avoid US chargers etc exploding from the increased voltage.

I love Capri! You stayed at the most beautiful hotel in Capri, Quisisana used to be a hospital and it was turned into a hotel when Capri became a tourist destination😍😍 thanks for sharing, bright back all my Capri memories

i loved this vlog. my mom and i we’re in rome for two weeks in september, best place we’ve ever been to by far. the limoncello is amazing and will definitely get you feeling good, i totally feel you on the tomatoes, they’re some of the best i’ve ever tasted. i think i ate bruschetta every day while mom had a cappuccino lol. i’ll definitely have to go back to italy and visit postiano, thanks for sharing your experience with us laura!!!
