6 POINTS Paragliding Pre-Flight Checks : APPI - B.E.S.A.F.E - Temple Pilots Paragliding

To ensure a safe paragliding experience when you’re flying high in the sky it is always important to do a thorough preflight checks on the ground before takeoff. Sometimes due to excitement, anxiety, gap in training or shere anticipation of getting in the air sooner in good wind condition pre flight checks often get overlooked. You wouldn't forgive an airline pilot skipping preflight checks on your flight so why should you. Flight safety is ultimately the pilot's own responsibility. A solid self-inspection routine forms a vital building block for becoming a safe and competent paragliding pilot without injury.
Here are 6 step simple preflight check method called B.E.S.A.F.E to make your inspection fullproof... all thanks to APPI www.appifly.org
Note: the preflight check is not substitute for a general equipment check which should be done when unpacking equipment and preparation after arriving at launch. Before you are in position to run a checklist, we will assume that you've performed the following tasks:
- Mounted Helmet.
- Climbed into harness
- Assembled (connected) harness to the glider.
- Moved to the launch area.
- Spread the glider into the wind (perpendicular to the wind)(provided site/conditions permit)
