I'm the same way sometimes I will turn the delay up and then just leave it there for who knows how long. It all sounds good to me. Sometimes less is more but for the stuff your showing here I like the delay.

9 people hit thumbs down? Are you phucking kidding me? This guy could play better with 2 fingers than most can with 4. Jealous assholes. As a meat and potatoes guitar player, I watch Rick's skill and attitude with awe and a smile. Love the legato playing.

Oh yeah, that legato muting thing... I couldn't get that much with my Ibanez without cranking the gain, but with my Strat, it's like I don't even have to try. Love Strats to death. Fantastic playing as usual Rick.

another guy you just reminded me of... Brett Garsed. I keep hearing these runs going that's Garsed right there! hahha Lane right there! That axe fx sounds pretty damn good. I'm sure it costs an arm and a leg. I've been dabbling with guitar rig. got some good sounds in there. This lepoulin guy has a good amp plug called Legion. And it fits my budget (free). haha

Hi Rick. Question. Sounds at the AXE FX II via the headphone output as well as a box? At home, I can unfortunately not play very loud to a similar sound as you get added. Z.z. I play an open Sennheiser speaker (headphones). I prefer at the moment Line 6 POD HD and Line 6 POD X3 and VOX ToneLab EX and Korg AX 3000G. Are all not bad but at the AXE they do not come off. I am yet to try on :-)

Rick- on the AxeFX II -what are you using in the room to monitor/hear the sound? Those little studio monitor/speakers next your your monitor or is there something off camera (like an FRFR speaker) we can't see? It seems like really great tone if it's just those little speakers.

Just some feedback concerning Licklibrary: They don't provide a tab representation (it would be best on the video itself) and so they spend an inordinate amount of time verbally telling you what they're playing which is soon forgotten then I have to back track many times. Because of this there are better instructional videos free on youtube. Maybe your instructional video can remedy this situation?

I think a lot of the tone identity problem, in a metal players prospective. Comes from the idea that strats are uncool, and not ideal for metal. True or not, the problem is you can't get a strat tone with a cool looking "metal guitar" with emg's. I think the strat tone presented here is just phenomenal. If only heard, not seen young guitarists probably wouldn't know that you were in fact using a stratocaster. The most important tool for getting that incredible tone, that I feel is the desired tone people are most looking for, and will never find unless they go through their presets with one. Beautiful strats, Love your videos man.

Remember that he has an Axe fx 2 aswell which would have been like what, £2k at that time? That thing could make an £80 guitar sound good. But also there are so many versatile pickups which players use for metal than aren't EMG's. In fact, I can't actually name a player who uses Emgs that ever would try and go for a strat tone over a super distorted metal tone. There are so many guitars that are versatile and good enough for Clean and Metal tones, Rick's suhr, Prs, Ibanez AZ's etc... Strats are great for their signature 'strat' sound but there are some far more versatile guitars out there

I'll have to add that no matter what the general equipment is (although it matters in a way), the tone will ALWAYS be in the fingers and soul of the guitarist. I'm sure that Rick will sound almost the same with a cheap amp and guitar as well as with all of his current equipment. It's all in his fingers... he creates the tone! Not the "machines"! Cheers Rick!
