Great video Rob, loved seeing all the lovely places I know in Stockbridge, from 15 years of fishing there. Reckon I’ve imbibed in most of those hostelries 🤣

Glad you enjoyed the video. Fishermans paradise Stockbridge with all that water and a street full of hostelries 🙂

Nice video Rob but you needed to ask someone in the know about the Langtry and single track rail before stating untruths, Lillie stayed at the White House and the prince stayed opposite Drovers House. And there was an up and down line on the old Sprat & Winkle.

Hi David , thanks you got me checking my facts, I normally like a couple of reputable sources before I say something. You're right in saying the railway was dual track from 1885 but initially in 1865 it was dingle track. With regards to Lillie there's an article from the Hampshire Chronicle but more substantial than that is this from Hisoric England. historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1093131 Still didn't stop me calling her Lillie Longford in the vud though 😁

@@RobsHampshirePubWalks As a local Stockbridge historian ,I have written a couple of books and many articles on the town and done a lot of research over my 80 years and the Chronicle need to do their research as well.
