Quran says: "So ask the Ahl al Dhikr (People of Remembrance) if you do not know." Quran 16:43 and 21:7 This verse is clear that a group of people, referred to as the People of Remembrance, exist who know the correct answers to questions. It is evident the Quran is referred to as 'al-Dhikr' in a number of verses in Quran 3:58, 21:50, 36:69, 41:41, including the verse: "We have revealed al Dhikr (i.e., Quran) and We surely protect it." Quran 15:9. Therefore the Ahl al Dhikr are the Ahl al Quran. The Prophet is referred to in the Quran as Dhikr, where the Quran says, "Allah has sent to you a Dhikr - a Prophet who recites for you the verse of Allah." Quran 65:10-11. Therefore the Ahl al Quran are the Ahl al Nabi. Tafsir Qurtubi and Tafsir Thalabi verse 21:7 relates: When the verse, Ask the Ahl al Dhikr was revealed, Ali said, "We are the Ahl al Dhikr." Tafsir Tabari and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, verse 16:43 relates that Abu Jafar al Baqir, the fifth Shia Imam, said, "We are the Ahl al Dhikr. The tradition of thaqalayn (two weighty items) is universally accepted by both Sunnis and Shia. It is famous and mutawatir. The tradition is transmitted through numerous companions through a large number of distinct chains of transmission, making it truly mutawatir. Sahih Muslim #31.5920-3 The Prophet said, "I am leaving among you two weighty things, one being the Book of Allah in which there is right guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it... The second are the members of my household (Ahl al-Bayt; Quran 33:33). I remind you of the members of my family." Sunan Tirmidhi #3788; Musnad Hanbal #11147 and #11119; and Fada il Hanbal #1382 The Prophet said: I leave for you that which, if you stick to it, you will never be misguided after me. +Syed Khalil Salamalaikum, Sayed ammar never undermined the importance of sunnah. He was making a point as to where do you get the correct sunnah from. Like logically if a persons biography had to be written, nobody but their family could provide the most accurate details of the persons nature. Similarly Mohammed s.a.w ways of dealing with things would best be known to his family, the sahabas can offer valuable input ofcourse but it wont surpass his family.

Isn't Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم "Al-Uswah al-Hasanah" (the best example) for us to emulate? Did he ever call upon Adam, Noah, Ibraheem, Musa, or Eesa for help? Our Prophet used to hold Ibraheem ﷺ in great regard, he even named his son after him, and when a person addressed the Prophet saying, O best of mankind! he replied: that was Ibraheem! [Sahih Muslim]. Why did he never call upon Ibraheem for help, even if only once, to teach his Ummah that it is permissible? Then, why don't you follow in his steps and call upon Allah only? As Allah said: قل إنما أدعو ربي ولا أشرك به أحدا Say (O messenger), I only call upon my Rabb, and I don't associate anyone with him!

The point that we are being killed anyway means we should say the truth, say what our Imams (asws) have said without Taqiyya as we have narration that when blood is spilled there is no more Taqiyya and this is logical as if you are being killed either way then you might as well express your religion.

+Amar Abidali You hating on sunnies and them hating you back is not going to solve anything. When you talk to sunnies you should be respectful and your intentions shouldnt be to mock their beliefs. Discussions with mutual respect is the only way you can ever arrive at a conclusion. Taqiyya is only done when our lives are threatened. If a sunni comes and asks you about your stance on Ali a.s being the first imam. You shouldn't mock the people they revere. neither should you lie (because your life isnt threatened) But instead you should talk to them respectfully and explain why.

That was interesting.. although the end disrupted me, as a sunni muslim. How can you all be THAT emotional about Husayn etc? Do you cry that much when you imagine the Prophet being hit by rocks for exemple? How do you know you re not adoring the family of the Prophet pbuh? Do you cry that much when you hear about Jahannam? I believe because of the history of shi'a, you are more sensible about all that because that's how you've been raised, just like the crazy ceremony they do in Iran on the 10th of Muharram.. disguising their child as a "dead imam husayn", WTH? or hitting themselves... but sadly that's what humans do, they go astray. If we think about things rationally then yeah there are some points I agree with of course. I think folowing ahl al bayt is supposed to be exacty as following the Prophet pbuh anyway. Im wondering about shias : do they know much about the life of the Prophet pbuh before knowing about everything that happened next? do they know about Badr and Uhud etc? Do they know about how muslims were during the Prophet's life? This is the first thing to know i believe, even if you take your sources from ahl al bayt. you need to love the Prophet pbuh first and all the Prophets' stories. what i believe is wrong is the importance you give to aht al bayt and that therefore you don't give to the Prophets themselves. I agree us sunnis should know more about the history yh. but you guys should talk more about the Quran and about the life of the Prophet pbuh really. that's just my point of view. Allah knows best.

Because without the incident of Imam Hussein the whole religion would die! Its by far more important than some stories of the prophet (pbuh). And of course we all learn about Badr, Uhud, Hunain, Khaybar, Khandaq, Muta etc.. we learn about the life of the prophet and also what happened after it. But even the prophet himself shed tears about the death of his grandson when Jibreel told him about karbala. And this is in sunni narrations. The sincere tears for the family of the prophet and especially for Imam Hussein, who was the symbol for justice and was murdered tragically by other persons calling themselves "muslims". We are never allowed to forget this, this separates the true message from the munafiqun islam.

just for the sake of giving the correct circumstances according to the narration mentioned by Ammar about Umar saying 'what a good bid3a'. Umar didn't say 'what a good bid3a' regarding the prayer of tarawi7 in general, because the narration says the people were praying tarawi7 already. The narration says that Umar found the people in the mosque praying in several groups with several imams. So he ordered them to gather behind one imam and pray together. Then he said 'what a good bid3a'. He didn't order them to come to the mosque and pray tarawi7. According to the narration they were already doing that...

I have another question. There are many sahaba in sunni tradition like Bilal RA or Ibn Omer RA eluded to go to jennah. What of the common (sunni) knowledge that there are 10 sahaba for jennah including Talha RA As-Zubear RA and the first three rightly guided (according to us) caliphs. Do shia reject the narration of the 10 for jennah or the narration that the first 4 caliphs are rightly guided all together?
