When you get to "final thoughts" I kind of just want to hear your summary, not more rambling about your bourbons or whatever. If you're going to ramble do much you need to start editing and not just dump stream of consciousness without any prep. I have no idea what to make of your "final thoughts" and an too annoyed to go back and watch anything else. (And slow down your delivery... you both talk way way too fast, while, awkwardly saying so very little)

Honestly I´m not much in favour of both rating systems: The Bourbon System ist not transparent and consistent enough as I could drink a bourbon because of frustrtation, when having bad luck in a roll OR I could drink a Bourbon because I´m that much enjoing this game and do not take much care about if I´m loosing or winning. So 2 complete different views but with the same Bourbon count (here it is a 5/5 Bourbons because he is loving it that much....in the Witcher it was a 5 out of 5 because he was frustrated getting bad rolls...)..... And the other rating system: The expectation is not transparent either. As the personal expectation could have to do with anything: Have I read enough about this game?... and does the background story trigger me enough?....or have I seen prototype pictures and I really do like the art without knowing anything about the gamne?...then my expectations would increase. It´s perfectly fine t have expectation but to include them in a final rating system....? It´s not transparent enough where the expecations are coming from and additionally expecations most based on subjective hopes about something.....So the final score is based on an initial feeling/wish?! No, I don`t like ;) Other than that: Many thanks for this great video! The game got my intention now ;)

For a Siege player (myself included) all those icons, abilities, operators and so on, they are easy to get familiarised with But yeah, I understand that for a non-Siege player, this can be overwhelming at time Anyway, great review, as always. I suspect they're going to go similar to MHW's Kickstarter which makes my wallet nervous. I haven't played R6S in a long time so there'll be some ops I'm not necessarily excited for, but you can bet I'll likely be in the same boat and go all-in.

Game looks pretty cool but it will probably have to hit the table a lot to maximize the enjoyment. Reading fiddly rules every 6 months saps out all the fun in this type of game. Definitely has perked my interest. Thanks for the entertaining content.

My thoughts on complex games changed over time due to this very thing. I used to love the prospect of a crunchy/heavy game, but unless you are playing them regularly, you will not remember all of those nuanced rules, which requires you to have to reread them from scratch before each time you play (again, unless you get to play regularly to keep it fresh in your mind). I am the person who purchases and learns/teaches the games in my gaming group, so I am sure that has something to do with it as well...

I played Rainbow Six Siege computer game for hundreds of hours with my friends. I also love hex & counter wargames. Really looking forward to this one. I am also worried about the vertically being simulated in this game.. this is suck a huge part of the video game. I know all of the operators and their specific abilities.. operator selection is part of the strategy. Can we breach wall in this game? Hope you can showcase a full game demonstration soon.

These timestamps are confusing as hell. I go to the Not Liked part and you're talking about how good the little figures are, the final thoughts was so confusing, the part where you are talking about what other people might not like you are mentioning how YOU don't like the upstairs. There seems to be a bit too much rambling in these reviews and sometimes you guys talk way too fast. But sure this is all well and good if this is what ur happy with. But the final review/conclusion should give me at least a good idea of what you thought of the product. But I'm confused as to if you could enjoy this because its just talks about bourbon and how its a 5/5 meaning you could only enjoy it with 5 bourbons...? I'm probably wrong but that's the point, you've confused me as the viewer and especially a new viewer who is now turned away by this.

The bourbon scale doesn't make any sense. Why are you drinking more the better you like the game? If you were into the game you wouldn't want to leave to go mix a drink. The higher the bourbon scale should mean the less you like the game. If you would rather be drinking than playing doesn't that mean the game isn't any good?

Please suggest to Mythic Games they need a quick reference sheet for the icons, should come laminated if possible with the game, and if characters have them, they should print on the back of the character. Batman Chronicles had icons on the front of their characters and on the back was a character bio which is great but we can goggle it to learn who a character is and yet on the back of those Batman Chronicle characters should have been the icons for what they can do and a brief description and reference to the page number in the rule book so when you are new to the game you can use that as your reference for only the things you need and slowly get use to looking up in the rule book. Instead Batman Chronicles throws you in the deep end and before their updated rule book they had a pretty poorly organized rule book. Please stress that to Mythic Games. or was that Monolith. I get these companies confused, but either way, still a valid point and which ever company it was stress that too them.

@Connor Locklin That was the point, we as the gaming community/players needed to create something that was essential to really play this game and Mythic could have just printed that reference on the back of each character and I wish in a future kickstarter they'd reprint the whole set of character cards for us to replace and yes it would cost money for us to buy but giving us that option would be fantastic and cool to have and like it should have been when the first printing happened. Mythic Games (or is that Monolith, I always get them confused) please consider making such character cards. People will buy them.

In the gazilion market of two player skirmishes, this does not seem to stand out in mechanics. I don't think several hit-points makes for a good simulation of the original PC game (or the events that it tries to simulate) where any one shot that hit brought down any character. Even when you play paintball, one hit is sufficient to take you out. This game looks like a rethemed Imperial Assault Skirmish.

It's honestly going to be a massive struggle for you just because you don't play board games at all. That being said, if you play this board game a ton, and literally only this board game, you'd get the hang of it eventually, it's not the most complicated board game out there but it's not a "starter" board game.

I haven't played it 2v2, but just extrapolating from other games, I'd say that some small percentage will prefer it that way, for myself I'd likely be willing to, but not prefer it.

So is this unlicensed IP or is it affiliated with the video games? Rainbow 6 Siege takes place after the original Rainbow 6 unit (Tom Clancy's book and the 1990s video games) was shut down and the recent games focus on combating the White Mask terror group. Also RB6: Siege differs from Rainbow 6, as it more multi-player focused but less narrative story line-driven.

So considering that most Mythic games feel kinda half baked and fiddly, don't think this will be different. Just seeing ammount of stuff on tbale, seems set up and dear down is kinda significant, and that gameplay will be quite fiddly. As usual, minis are great, rest of package, not so much.

KS has two map packs (2 maps per pack) as add-ons. As usual they have a basic pledge and various all-in with loads of minis pledges. I'll probably stick with the base game, maybe one character expansion and one map-pack to give some variety.

I personally find the setup/takedown of this too fiddly for a 2p game, not just the planning stage, but getting the board set up seems to be a bit much. I do agree that repeat plays of this would elevate the game, especially with the same opponent, and I love the concept/execution, but since I personally have to breakdown my games between plays, this will have to be a no for me.

Did you guys ever play Infinity, by Corvus Belli? It’s a miniature skirmish game, but nothing gets closer to the X-COM feel than it: the game is tense, tactical and has loooots of different scenarios. One of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.

I must have played this wrong on TTS. Every single attack was a 1shot kill and the Mission was won for the attackers at round two. Destroy the window, move and shoot - kill... Since none had any protection within the attackers line of sight. And the starting Overwatch doesn't take place, when the Defender dies instantly, right? Weird protection mechanics, I guess didn't yet fully understand. As far as I understand there has to be an object next to the Defender, that also crosses the line of sight to the Attacker, right? Or alternatively they need to Lean from a protected wall or object, which of course none of the starting Operators has. Will give it another try, but that first experience with the game was really extremely disappointing.

Lol Alex rates most games a 3....good, not great. But in those there are still some solid games, and with me putting out 4-5 reviews a week, that means those 4's and 5's will show up :) And haven't played with the expansions, I assume you don't need anywhere near all that content.

Why is there so much negative space on the board….? Is it necessary so attacking team can choose any entrance? Or a seeming oversight from creators? Are there other content on cards that can get incorporated into the board? Maybe a player aid? Great point that true to form, Mythic had tons of nuance, and if they stay true to form, the fiddly bits in this prototype will likely NOT be addressed when this delivers. When a new game comes out, it has a clean slate as far as I go…unless it’s Steamforge

Watching video and seeing your argument about color of door, I wish they made colors more distinguishable. I will be hoping for clear visible symbols. I can't tell apart some colors sometimes and it's main reason I can't enjoy Takenoko no matter how hard I try. I wasn't interested in this at first but now it looks great to me, like Flash Point but several levels more complex and not coop. I will be following kickstarter for sure, thanks for nice overview.
