Yes! Under cabinet lighting isn’t always on! I hardly ever used mine except for ‘atmosphere’🤣 it’s usually inferior to a fixture in light quality and it’s weird working with only your hands illuminated!

please tell more about kitchen island. how to light island wtih cooking hob and pullout drawer? should i combine pendant light with recessed light?

That depends on the lumens of the fixture and how you plan to use it. For a task light, the lumens required are higher, 75-100. If you plan on cooking without the pendants on or want the option and added light, then add one over the hob 🤣(I can’t help myself)

This is great info for placement! My electrician wanted to put in a grid of 6" cans and I stopped him to say I wanted 4". Can you suggest what brand and type of bulb should I tell him I want? I feel like this is just as critical as the placement!

There’s several great established names. WAC, Juno, Dals Nora , just stay away from brands that can’t write a sentence that makes sense in the description(Amazon). If budget permits, no wafer lights. Recessed cans will generally come with the led bulb included so just check the beam spread.

I have table /banquet attached to my island how do I place my lighting?

Hmm 🤔 without seeing it, I’m going to shoot in the dark. I’d light the table with a large pendant/ chandelier and do recessed lights over the island part. 🤔 wait, maybe the opposite with the island getting more ambient/pendant lighting. Or a larger pendant with coordinating smaller pendants over the island and some recessed cans to supplement around the perimeter. There’s no right answer, but if you are paying attention and watching all my videos🤣👩‍🎨🎥 you’ll make the right choice for YOU!

do you ever recommend these strip lights or cove lighting? Or is it overkill if you really are not that type ( I keep not liking it!!! but every keeps saying you can't do recessed spots it is old fashioned!!

I recommend it all! What suits you and the style of your house?🏡 Recessed lights aren’t old fashioned. Just the old silver high hats and eyeball trim🤣
