@@vixxexo6855 It is real, it's simply not strictly enforced now, for years pretty much. It started being a thing around 2010 but for a few years now it hasn't been that strongly enforced. The tatoos, censoring lyrics and choreography are probably the only ones that remain strictly enforced, specially at KBS. The belly button rule is probably only enforced on underage idols now cause even at KBS you'll find recent female idols showing it just fine.

@@gyarufangirl2680 if some kids want to become idols in the first place it is because the society they are living in present this activity as something great. This is not the responsability of the kids. This is the responsability of the adults.
@gyarufangirl2680
@gyarufangirl2680 Ай бұрын
@@cynthiagauthier8897 But the thing is, being an idol ISNT represented as something great. Even people who aren’t into K-pop know that being an idol is the last thing they’d ever want to be. So if you’re an K-pop fan, like literally every single one of those children who aspire to become idols, you should know about the abuse and bizarre restrictions. And how exactly is this the adults’ fault? Did they tell these kids to become idols? Did they encourage them to? You know, I once saw a documentary about some kids who wanted to become idols, and a girl said something that you should definitely think about: “We chose this. This is our choice.” FYI, THAT was how she responded to a question about the high suicide rate in the K-pop industry… being a kid means that you are a kid. Not that you’re retarted enough to not see the danger of things when they’re ALL you can see smh (sorry for the long comment omg)
@cynthiagauthier8897
@cynthiagauthier8897 Ай бұрын
I don't understand what you're saying and find it very contradictory. If becoming an Idol wasn't valued as "great", why do you think these children would enroll in such training programs? Yes, people know that there is abuse in this environment, but it is considered normal to succeed in this industry. It is adults who impose these restrictions, who recruit and train these children. It is the society in which these children live and the adults who encourage them to become Idols. Where do you think the name "Idols" comes from? The meaning is very telling. If you take what these children say in the documentary you quote, then you are very naive. Because if children don't have the right to vote, it is because they are not mature enough to make important decisions. How do you expect them to be mature enough to choose what their life will be like? They are just repeating what adults have put in their heads.

I’m not in favor of too much skin exposed or the increase in sexual movements. The girl groups especially seem to now overemphasize sexuality, verging on vulgar at times. What was special about K-Pop was the ability to be sexy without being vulgar. The more K-Pop is sexualized, the smaller the audience will be; as parents do not feel comfortable exposing children to this, and mature people of any ages, want to hear great songs and watch amazing dancing; not sexually explicit dance moves.
@Viewerfor
@Viewerfor Ай бұрын
Most parents don’t like their kids being into K-pop, especially western parents. Kids do it anyways. It’s hard to ban a kid from listening to this kind of music. So no, the audience won’t be smaller.

Sexy concepts was way more common in 2nd gen with groups like AOA, Hello Venus, Sistar, Brown Eyes Girls, Dalshabet, Exid, Stellar and Girls Day. There are hardly any groups doing sexy concepts now. Kiss of life is only new group that has a sexy concept as their main. Others groups like (G)i-dle do some few sexy concepts like (G)i-dle did Nxde, but not as a main concept.

Those lyrics are from the English version, which was never promoted on the music shows. The Korean lyrics for this part ("내 몸이 기억해") translate as, "My body remembers", which is then followed by the English lyric, "Remember your scent". Yes, you can probably read a lot more into these lyrics, but they can be interpreted in less provocative ways, too. :)

Korea has always been conservative, and it’s what jungkook and other idols grew up with. It’s not that big a deal to dress a bit more professional. Not to mention if they had a different job, like an average persons job, this would all be relevant, and extremely conservative. No corporate job would let you show off too much skin, or tattoos. This is barely anything compared to most dress codes.

I actually agree on the part of like the dance, the curse as it should be family-friendly. As for the tattoo I have no right to say anything and for the paid yeah it's complicated. Oh well people will criticize no matter what but I think with it being family-friendly content it will bring a new fresh air when the original were performed in concert and etc. Well that is my opinion.
