I'm no good at sloughing off grievous injuries by hiding behind chest-high walls for a few minutes or eating things or poking bandaids into the holes. :P When the... let's, gently, say eccentric... guy with the palace, I presume, full of armed guards leaves the room and asks me politely to chill and have some deliciously fried, fake crab... I'm gonna chill, and then call INTERPOL as soon as I get home, if I get home. I'd be that fella's BEST FRIEND EVER until I could see better than Vegas odds of surviving running my skinny legs away. My life-based game of Far Cry 4 would probably be a high-stakes life sim with very dark comedic tones. :P

I actually feel the Far Cry 4 secret ending is probably the best ending. In hindsight Pagen Min wasn't really that bad. The leaders of the Golden Path turn out to be just as bad as he is, if not worst in some respects. And he made a good point of him using Kyrate the same way the player ended up doing, doing what ever the hell he wanted to. In fact, while I was playing, and Pagen kept contacting me over the walky talky, I personally wanted to ask if there was a way to work things out peacefully. Besides, realistically, just sticking around, and eating the Crab Rangoon, meant a LOT less people had to die.

What would have made that FC4 ending better is if it wasn't an ending, but an intro to a different game. Like morality factors in games like Fallout, but instead of just making people hate you, you can either play the game as the good guy, or wait the 10 or so minutes and be in, essentially, game 2, where you rule alongside him, being a villain and shit.

I loved Pagan and *SPOILER* he was actually who your mother wanted you to be sent to because Lakshana is Pagan and Ishwari's daughter and your half sister. The Secret of Monnkey Island: At one point Guybrush is tied to an object and thrown into the ocean. This is not an issue for Guybrush because he can hold his breath for 10 minutes, so you have PLENTY of time to solve the puzzle and continue the game... or you can stand around for 10 minutes and drown. Your choice. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge: The game starts with Guybrush trapped in a pit & needing to be rescued by Elaine. Guybrush then starts telling the story of how he got there which is when the real game begins. Eventually, there is a scene where you're captured by LeChuck and hung over a pit of boiling acid. If you fail to escape before 5 minutes have passed, Guybrush is lowered into the acid and dies a gruesome death. We then cut back to Elaine calling Guybrush a liar, and Guybrush says, "Ok, here's what really happened..." at which point you get a second chance to escape the acid.

In the original Clock Tower game you can skip the whole thing if you find the car keys and head to the garage where the car is parked. The character will tell you that she can't leave her sisters behind but if you keep trying she eventually leaves the house and everyone in there to die.

SPOILER for far cry 4 : i went and listened to pagan at the end of the story and he explained to me why my father was a twit and then he said he'd give kyrat to me and it went like this : "Im giving you kyrat, but im keeping the helicopter!" as he flies away in his helicopter, end music plays and i whip out the buzzsaw(Signature MG42) and shoot down the helicopter and boom the king is dead cue end screen song. Favorite game ending ever

There was apparently a planned hidden ending around 15 minutes into Portal 2, by all acounts there would be a crack in the ceiling of one of the destructed test chambers at the begining through which the moon would be visible, you could then, if you wished, shoot a portal to the moon, be sucked out, die in the vacuum of space, and then the credits would roll while Glados would sing a song about all the things you didn't get to experience.

In the first Golden Sun game for Gameboy Advanced, you as the protagonist Isaac can decline to start the quest to save the world and the game ends there. It does pop you right back to the previous scene after the fade to black of course so you can actually start your quest.

It wasn't an Easter egg but a glitch, but in oblivion if you climbed a staircase of paintbrushes up to the roof of the imperial city temple, you could fall inside and open a door that leads you to the last part of the storyline. So there's something.

I find the alternate ending to The Witch's House funny. You have to start the game and do absolutely nothing for two hours, and the roses blocking the way out vanish. You go south, the game ends, no credits. :P

In The Evil Within Kidman DLC, at one point you follow Leslie into the Stem link room. You see all the others in bathtubs around Ruvik's brain in the center. If you shoot the brain, the credits roll with a nice picture of Kidman, Joseph, and Sebastian in his office. She suddenly swears as she discovers it was just another Ruvik head game.

The Saboteur had a secret ending in the prologue. During the part of the prologue where you're able to roam around Germany before the big Race against the antagonist, it's possible to steal a German tank and go on a killing spree. At this point you can earn your character upgrades, so being able to hold out for a lengthy tank spree allows you to unlock the Machine Guns on your racecar before the opening chapter is over. This means when you do go to the big racecar track and race the antagonist, your car has machine guns and you're able to flat out kill him during the race right after meeting him, which rolls the end credits and finishes the game.

There's one in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, where at the end of the Cave of Bad Dreams level, the guardian, Jano, gives you the choice between The Elixir of Life, which you need to progress, and all the gold you could possibly want. If you choose the latter the game switches to a tropical island where an obese Rayman is seen sitting on a pile of gold and a "The End" screen comes up.

What about the Super Paper Mario (the new one) where you can utterly refuse to save the universe at the beginning of the game? I did that my first play through because I was curious. The game got a little ticked, (think "oh, I guess the universe just *won't* be saved, then!") and then took me back to the main menu. I know it's a game for Wii and not X-Box, but I thought it was pretty funny.

There was this really old game for Win 95 or so. It had a similar style to fallout 1 but it was set in space. You had some really cool guns and spider bombs and stuff. You could freeze an enemy with a gun or pipe, then shatter them. One gun just ate away all the flesh of your target. Can't remember the name of the game though. About 1-2 hours into the game you are to disarm a bomb, if you fail the bomb detonates, you die and end credits roll. If you disarm it you can continue playing, this was the first game I ever played with a false ending.

If I recall correctly, there was an early ending in Portal 2. During the game, you find out portals only 'stick' to moon dust. Basically, you could shoot the moon through a hole in the ceiling before the first act is even over. You'd get sucked into space and you'd asphyxiate to death. Unfortunately, every single play tester missed it so they removed it entirely.

For "Harvest Moon: It's a Wonderful Life (Special Edition)" The whole point is tending and expanding your farm, marry and raise children. So naturally the first question is whether you, the player, wish to keep the farm your father left for you. If you choose "Yes" the game continues, if you choose "No" you literally get a "game over". I believe it mentioned this in the manual and I had to try it for myself. And this literally is in the first 2 minutes of gameplay. (Heck you don't even "play" you just make up your name and go through some dialogue and a in-game movie.)

in The Secret of Monkey Island also, when Guybrush stays underwater for more than ten minutes, he dies and a "game over" dialog box identical to that of Sierra's King's Quest series appears, giving the player an option to restore a saved game and jokingly stating: "Hope you saved the game!" and in The Curse of Monkey Island you could win just by holding "Shift + W", but I guess this is more of a "cheat code"

My favorite instance of this was in Golden Sun for the GBA. After finishing the tutorial the village elder asks if you are ready to take on the responsibility of saving the world. Most games would just have the elder chastise you and ask you again, but instead he says something about being disappointed and you get Game Over and the world ends. Great job. Jerk.
