Corwin, take a second look at the Bedard goal you were talking about where he stole the puck then roofed it. He actually "looked off" the goalie on it. As soon as he stole the puck he took a quick peek at the net then immediately stared at the front of the net as if he was about to pass it across crease and continued to look there as he shot it (dare i say…) bardown. Even more impressive than at first glance.

There has been games in England already - the then defending Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks played the Kings at O2 arena to start the season back in 07. Of course, no one pays attention to the other Southern California NHL team 😢

Not a NYR fan , but y'all had them 3rd-4th in their division at the start of the season. And i thought that was insane then and still insane now. They underperformed last year, like the Panthers did during the reg. season. The Rangers probably have the best D core in the league. If healthy, they should be the favorites out of the East, and I'm a irrational B's fan. Just love the way the NYR are built.

I think it may take a couple years still to sell ice hockey in Nigeria. The media outlets there are definitely becoming more diverse and with every year it’s becoming increasingly more common to have access to trending media but Canada still consumes twice as much media with less than 1/5 the population of Nigeria. It would be awesome if that massive population had a decent percentage of people open to exposure of something so foreign to them. It would be neat but at the same time what if Cricket teams came to Toronto to showcase that sport? That might do better than the NHL in Nigeria.

Any of Calgary dmen like Hanifin,Anderson,Zadorov,Tanev all would be upgrade to teams Sanheim is is good not worth that trade but a top 2/3 guy on good team. Cheaper options maybe Durzi/Dumba,Ferraro,a st Louis guy parayko/Faulk/bortuzzo. Maybe jets move out Pionk/Demelo/or Dillon. Would be good additions

The sanheim trade isn’t that bad, the 1st round pick will most definitely be late. I’d scrap the second, and Corwin is right about Knies, but of course every fanbase is going to love their promising young players. If it was Robertson instead of knies, Corwin wouldn’t have got as much backlash. Too early to say anything though hopefully Sanheim keeps this up.

Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary (3.0, 4.2, and 4.4 degrees Celsius mean average) are a lot colder than all of the other NHL cities. Toronto (9.4), Ottawa (6.6), Montreal (6.8), Minneapolis (7.8), Chicago (9.8), Detroit (10.0), Buffalo, etc. are quite temperate in comparison. So if players hate the cold, really only the Canadian prairie cities would be a no-go.

My issue with bringing up Jesper Wallstead is that you're putting him in net against a mountain of bullshit right now. It's not just the goalies and the save percentage is an issue but it's not just the goalies. Gus has been a big disappointment in that he was considered "THE GUY" but now they've gone back to the two #1 goalies. Kaprisov has been snake bitten and has been absolutely an issue with turnovers and really all of the guys you expected to do well have not done well except maybe Hartman and Zuccarello. the guys right now carrying the team are Dewar, Duhaime, and Rossi on the forward lines while you have guys like Mermis and Faber being the best Defensemen for this team. it's just nuts looking at how a lot of the vets oustide of the D core are just not working out like they should be.

Wild fan here: I like Gus but I thought for sure he would regress to some extent and since we have Wallstedt coming up I was hoping we would trade him if we could get a buyer that would pay well. Also, our goaltending hasn't been great, but our PK is the very worst in NHL history, so I don't know how much the goalies can be blamed for that. Finally, it's still early, and every year the Wild started like 1-7 and we were fine, so this too shall pass.
