Second Coming of Jesus. All the clues in the lyrics fits perfectly. Harry talks about Wars and how we never learn, if you read Matthew 24, it talks about how we never get along with each other during the "last days of the world". In fact, some Bibles even have placed a title in that chapter which is "Sign of the Times". "You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky" - means you cannot cheat God's judgement. "We will meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here" - we will meet again in heaven. "They told me that the end is near" "Welcome to the final show" - he knows that we are in the last days of the world. This song is a warning to all of us, and sad thing about it is that most of us doesn't know or understand what the song really means.

Harry, supposedly said in an interview, that the song was about a Mother dying shortly after giving birth, and she was talking to her newborn. The song has no real sense within that scenario however. I think Harry just shot that out there as a rouse (if he said anything at all). Maybe, because he is such a 'deep' artist, he knew that they wouldn't or couldn't understand the shear depth of his insight if he were to tell them. The song is actually about... child birth. It's about a child birth with complications. The child is healthy but the mother will die. "THEY told that the end is near." Is about the doctor and nurses telling she won't survive. "Just stop your crying...." baby is crying cuz babies do that. And 'just stop your crying have the time of your life" is the mother telling to have good life. "We can meet again somewhere..." the mother and child will be reunited somewhere far away. A good indeed. It impliedly tells everyone of the story of a person chained by the devil as this person sold his soul to the devil. A lot of points in the lyrics metaphorically meant it: "Just stop your crying It's a sign of the times Welcome to the final show Hope you're wearing your best clothes" Many people sold their soul to the devil. According to them, if you are already in that situation, you can't escape from it. So all you can do is to enjoy what you have. It's useless to be miserable when you can't get it from it. They just realized their mistake when they found out that what they're doing actually lead them to death-second death (or hell) in particular. So as a message, it is addressed to those people who is also in the same position-to just claim what they have right now and just think of the consequence after. "You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky You look pretty good down here But you ain't really good" Since thay are already in that case, they can longer be qualified to enter in the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to enter into heaven. Bribing the door on the way to the sky proved it. Doing EVERYTHING just to open that door is useless. The only solution is to get away from being chained by the devil. But can't do it on their own. A lot people died just attempting to escape from it. "If we never learn, we been here before Why are we always stuck and running from The bullets? The bullets" It implies that, they only noticed that the way they stepped in is a way to destruction. If only they knew about it from the very beginning, they won't consider entering it in the very first place. But now, they are stuck in that chain and they will carry until the end of the time. So they consider their recent days as if the end of the times (note when you say "end of time," it means a period of no beginning and no end. In short, its eternity. What they have now is a trial for eternity. They are actually trying to get away from being chained, but with no avail, nothing happened. Not because, they don't have the solution, but because they ca't no matter how they try. So as a conclusion, kindly relate the song to our spiritual life right now. Can I just mention, that people usually write songs based off of personal experiences. I read a website that explained that it could very well be about the idea that in society today, many people will keep any hardships or emotional distress to themselves until it becomes overwhelming and they hurt themselves, whether it be self-harm or suicide. The lyrics fit perfectly. Those "bullets" could be the things in life, like emotions, that we try to avoid or keep to ourselves, such as sadness or pain. Harry could simply be talking about a time in his life where he felt that way, or a person he knows/knew who did these things. After all, Harry used to read and cry over hate he receives. It's a very sad song. I mean, the very first stanza sounds like it's describing someone dying or a funeral. And it doesn't seem to get any happier after that. I'm not saying that this theory is correct, but I believe that it is

When I saw DEATH and WAR I stayed in shock, but then when I saw ONE DIRECTION I lose my breath because I thought about them all together again 5/5, and it's a feeling I'm absolutely welcome to feel whenever it comes in my life ofc. Trying not to be biased by the fact I ship Larry; I think that this song is about trying to get away from something in order to be a good person (so he could be reassuring us about moving on from 1D and management etc) AND about all the deaths that happened in 2016 including those that happened to people he knew. The reason he chose a war theme could be because of his recent role in Dunkirk and so it inspired him to write a song that shows that life is a bit hectic and like a war zone. However, it could also hint at war as Harry is known to be quite sympathetic when it comes to crisis in other countries. This would make sense as he says "Just stop your crying, it's the sign of the times". This could be interpreted as 'stop crying, it's typical'.

It's important that as the story come to an end that we don't fight it and to not be fearful. You can't bribe the door (between life and death) on your way to the sky (to the true reality). You can't stop the inevitable. So, go in peace Don't lament, it will be alright. If there is yet time remaining, live it with gusto. Have the time of your life. As the transition begins: "Breaking through the atmosphere" you'll find that there was nothing to fear. "Things look pretty good from here." When it is said; "You look pretty good down there, but you're not really good." It refers to the illusion appearing to be real and your place in it to be absolute and true, but it's not. It's not where you ultimately belong and that's why we have to get away from here, we have to, have to get away. In the grand scheme of things, you and I have played these many roles before and perhaps we will meet again somewhere with another voice, another face in another time and another place far away from this one. We would remember these truths if we only communicated more and be open to each other about what we feel and believe deep with in our being. "We've been here before, (it's no big secret) It's just what we know." So don't be afraid. Speak your truth and when they, the others speak their's, we may find that we all speak the same thing.
