Danielle, the law in Spain says the blade must be 4 inch (10cm) or shorter for carrying. Perfectly legal in Spain, in many other countries you WILL end up in jail for it so check the local laws. You can own any knife you want but for carrying, 4 inch or shorter so as to make it legal. Also legal in Spain is pepper spray, you can buy Sabre Red in most knife or gun stores in Madrid, even hardware stores or order it online. Pepper Spray would be PERFECT for you, great for the low level threats in Spain. Again, check the laws becuase it is illegal to carry pepper spray in a number of other countries. In UK you get 5 years in prison for pepper spray, its considered the same as an illegal firearm.
@Tricroman2 күн бұрын
No, you can't carry a blade. If you don't have a justification you can be fined between €600 and €30.000, and the blade may be confiscated.

Underground cables are not only a matter of aesthetics, they are also safer because you don't have to worry about people causing a blunder that will cause a section of the city to lose power. While transport in Madrid is very well developed, in other parts of Spain it is much less developed. This is partly due to the fact that much of Spain is empty but mainly due to a persistent 50 years of mismanagement. With Franco's death everything went to hell at the governmental level. Unfortunately the streets are no longer as safe as they used to be, due to illegal immigration many people with criminal records are entering the country and this is causing an increase in islamist attacks (This Christmas, 42 attacks were intervened). I can assure you that the last point is true, even I do it and I am an extremely asocial person. Que buenos vientos te acompañen en tu travesía.

'Out here in...' 'Move out to...' is such an Americanism. Out implies moving away from the centre, to the fringes. Madrid no está al quinto pino, es una cuidad de maravilla con historia. Igual España, hasta en sus rincones menos poblados, tiene una riqueza cultural, lingüística, gastronómica, y ambiental.
