I love FMA and have been reading about it since last year. Even bought books. Now I would love to learn it as an art form. I wish there are more schools in Canada teaching this. I'm enrolling my daughter in Karate, but I see that she's like me and seems to have the affinity for FMA. It was funny and at the same time, inspiring to see her twirl our walis, LOL! So I'm really determined to find her a school that teaches FMA. I I would love to take lessons as well. We learned Arnis as a dance when I was in grade school. Little did I know, this is a martial art. The schools that offer FMA don't teach them to younger students. Hopefully she can get a good base in Karate and progress to learn Kali in the future.

Fellow eskrimador (Nickelstick Balintawak) here from Cebu! Big fan of your videos! In the modern age, FMA risks losing the tradition and culture it has brought along with it's practices. I love how you expounded on the importance of context and goals in your video. Thank you, Daniel! You are an inspiration to many of us :)

Thank you for these video contents. I've been self studying arnis but looking forward to train under a certified instructor soon..This can be a great start to understand the martial art from our country. Although my purpose of learning the art is for self sefense but it still looks good to learn how to begin, from basics whether the purpose, like you said is be it for art, sport or self defense. I appreciate your content and thank you for making me fall in love more with the art of Arnis and being proficient with it will give an honor to my father who passed away last year. He also love martial arts including Arnis.

I'm glad I came from Tang soo do/Taekwondo to FMA because cross training styles of a similar arts and learning nuances between the two is something I'm used to. City I live in has a Doce Pares school as well as a Kali Sikaran one, I'm a member of both and one is more traditional and also teaches Yaw Yan, whilst the other appears to be a mix of kali, krav maga and even the bruce lee's Jeet Kune do influence fed back into Kali they compliment each other really well and also means I can train every day which is great as I hate doing circuits at the gym for fitness.

I had just discovered that FMA is such a beautiful art, it's so fascinating. And being a Filipino without any knowledge or background in any martial arts but have always wanted to learn martial arts, makes me ant to get into FMA. So I'm now kind of researching because I want to start learning...? Maybe...? Someday...? When I can afford it haha And I love your videos! Very informative. But 5:37 Excuse me? LOL JK Very hilarious tho. But thank you for putting out content like this. This is one of the videos that I find very helpful for beginners(...?) like me to get more context and understanding about FMA.

I think as a Filipino, learning FMA is much harder than boxing, not because of its style but because of the availability of teachers, you can learn to box in your home through youtube even without partner, but FMA can't be learn in that way, FMA learning cost a lot and teachers are harder to find. This is my perception as a Filipino living in poor condition, unlike others who have money to spare and pay this teachers. I can't imagine an art created by poor Filipino were only taught to rich and foreigners. Now I know why Filipino just chose basketball because anyone can learn that easily

Idk what your point is but I'm a world champion SPECIFICALLY in the sport aspect of Arnis, and SPECIFICALLY under the WEKAF league. This does not imply I'm better than you. ☺️ Lots of other people are so much more skilled than me. In fact, I'll just assume you're better than me. I do hope that makes you feel much better. ☺️ You've been commenting on my videos long enough for me to feel you may be unhappy. If it's me specifically bothering you, I already replied to one of your comments on how to block a channel. Perhaps trying that would give you some peace of mind. ☺️🙏❤️
