Great video but if you wouldn't mind a few suggestions. First, pull your threads all the way through and clip them as you have shown. Push the cutoff threads back onto the holes, again as you have shown. Then put the glue on the tip of your awl and move the awl up and down in the holes to spread the glue. No glue on the leather and a good, solid connection. Should you get glue on the leather, it can be removed with a crepe eraser once the glue has dried. Never try to remove any glue (including contact cement) while it is wet. Second, put your piece in the hot foil machine before you turn it on so you can see where the stamp position will be. Once you have it where you want it, tape down some straight edged scraps on two 90°sides. Once the system is up to operating temperature, butt your piece against the scrap. This way you have a registration point and can do multiples of the same item without having to position each time. Added bonus, no tape residue on your good pieces. Thank you for your video

Good tips, but seriously I have seen the “put glue on linen thread” thing done dozens of time on KZbin videos. It’s also listed a few times in leathercraft books and magazines I have read.

Not a good idea to get adhesive (white or otherwise) on natural veg tan - so what then?

Use a crepe eraser.

That doesn’t eradicate the staining which often occurs between the oils in the adhesive reacting with the Veg tan - especially natural or russet leather!
