That last story (the one about the dreams), the "weird pins and needles feeling but worse" sounds like the way some people with Sleep Apniea describe their symptoms to me, but I never heard of it just going away with the power of prayer so it might not be the same thing...
@vanessaashford92032 жыл бұрын
honestly everything in that story is explainable by certain parasomnias (sleep paralysis and night terrors being the main ones, sleep paralysis often comes with weird physical sensations like this ime). Like obviously I can't say for *certain* that's what any of it is (although for that matter, the story, like any of these, could also just be made up entirely), but nothing in it screamed "unexplainable" in the slightest. And tbh, that's par for the course for these "demon" stories, with very few exceptions, the experiences in them aren't even unbelievable per se, it's just that the evidence put forward for them being actually paranormal in nature is particularly weak imo, usually based purely on how certain experiences "feel" subjectively, and are almost inevitably authored by someone who was either very religious at the time of the happening, or the story is basically just a conversion narrative (like this one), and very often ends with some thinly-veiled prosyletism. Tbh, I'm not even really closed off to the "paranormal" in general (although I remain overall healthily skeptical, bc even if there are unknown things in the world, humans are also incredibly gullible as a whole, and there are also plenty of liars out there wanting attention), but as someone who grew up in a heavily Christian area of the US (in a non-Christian family and culture), I've been hearing stories like the last one my entire life, and have never found them at all convincing and still find them to be consistently the least convincing type of supposed paranormal encounters when they come up on here (yes, even less than the standard /x/ "skinwalker" story that everyone and their dog has copied). Just my humble opinion. Anyway, with severe nightmares/night terrors or sleep paralysis, it is fully possible to end the experience by praying if that's something you believe in and believe will ground you, because you're basically convincing your brain to turn off its fear reaction, but like, prayers, mantras, spells, etc. from any number of other traditions can be just as effective if you believe in their effectiveness, as well as entirely secular psychological grounding techniques.
@vanessaashford92032 жыл бұрын
also, btw, these kind of sleep disorders are well-documented as either stemming from or being brought out by traumatic experiences and/or severe stress, such as having a partner take their own life or having bad family experiences
@Divineentity66122 жыл бұрын
Totally sounds like a sleep paralysis demon. It made me think of a succubus attacking you while you're asleep.
@garrywright78012 жыл бұрын
The person in story 2 I think it is. The one that the creature has blue eyes and wasn’t sure what it was. Yeah that sounds like an encounter with an actual window (yes misspelled on purpose). No I’m not gonna say it’s name close enough. The evil flesh consuming spirit. So many people have encounters where they think that’s what they saw but the description is all wrong and is generally some type of shape shifter or other spirit but this person got unlucky and actually encountered one. I can’t believe they lived. I think the thorn bush was actually lucky, painful, but lucky. Thorn bushes are denser so more hiding potential and who in their right minds chooses one to hide in so it’s inconspicuous. That accident probably saved them.

I can understand not immediately realising that he wasn’t following still, but by the time he realized he was missing I personally would’ve doubled back to find him. I’m an older sibling too and if my younger sibling and I were getting chased by a hungry carnivorous monster, I’d make sure they went on ahead first to make sure they’re safe, might try and slow it down a little (long story short, I’d be one of the first to die in a horror movie).

I've actually seen that same demon from the last story, it terrorized me for nearly ten years before God himself approached me. I have my own story with it, and what I saw, and have considered submitting it, but didn't know if it would be appreciated. I guess I should. OP was seeing the demon because they held a grudge against their parents. It probably took a different form from when I saw it, but it's the same one.

Gotta love people in the comments who are like “Demons? Christianity? Definitely fake. Oh Wendigos, shapeshifters, way more believable.” I’m 50% Navajo 50% Italian. Raised Roman Catholic but definitely tried to learn the Navajo ways of being in touch with nature their spiritual customs as well. In my opinion in both Natibe American spirituality and Christianity/Catholicism many of these beings are the same, just different names. That’s way many practices such as burning sage and blessing areas and items are shared between both.

Stories two and five both sound like they could have been encounters with the "Fair Folk". People think they're nice cute woodland sprites thanks to Disney, but that view has nothing in common with the old stories. They're super dangerous and aggressive, and the only good thing about them is that they're very capricious and therefore give up easily.

Thank you for the last story, a Christian myself I know that what she shared is true! If you’re experiencing anything similar call out the Name Of Jesus immediately, ask him to help you and he will. Demonic spirits tremble at the very mention of Jesus and will stop, remember this and do it. Then do as she did begin to pray daily and read the Bible. It will change your life and restore your peace.
