This was exceptionally informative. Never even thought of animation via moving camera. Just how large are the drawings you use for such camera work? You've developed a very nice style. Really fits well with music.

Thanks Steve! Most of the drawings are done in the animation program (Toon Boom Harmony) and are vector, so they can be sized up to fit the camera move without pixelating. That's the case for the "looking back" video. But if not, I would plan out the camera move and do some calculations. Something like the whip pan would be about 3 times wider than the camera resolutions (so something like 6000px wide for HD video). I hope that helps.

Dude, verrrry well done. Like your style. So wish I had your skills. I'd love to put video to my simple guitar ideas.

Thanks! I think a lot of these ideas would apply to photos too, if drawing isn't your thing.

Great stuff, Pat. I've always appreciated how your subtle use of movement goes a long way. It's now clear to me that everything I feel subconsciously while watching your work has been meticulously orchestrated on your part!

Thanks Greg! "meticulously orchestrated"! I love it! It's great to back through some of these old projects.

Funny. This video has been flagged for copyright. KZbin doesn't seem to know that I (my brother and I) wrote, produced and own the song "Looking Back".

Very interesting, Pat! I liked it very much. Do you think that even I could become an animator if I bought a camera?
