Thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking for a front facing shelf like yours. I clicked on the link you provided to purchase and the reviews mention that the books fall over easily. Has that been your experience? Do you still recommend the book shelf?
@hazieandmotherhood2 жыл бұрын
There are other front facing bookshelves that the books dont fall easily but the problem with those bookshelves is that it covers most of the book cover so kids cant really see it. Which is pointless. I still recommend this one becasue kids eventually will learn to be careful. It's just like toddlers using real glasses to drink early on, they break easily and that's how kids learn to be careful. You will be surprised how quick they understand the concept and learn to be careful. It actually helps develop fine motor skills and hand and eye coordination 😉 i hope this helps!!!☺️

@@hazieandmotherhood wow! Thanks for the quick response (first comment I leave on KZbin ever too 😊). Agree on the other bookshelves covering way too much! I totally hear you about them learning to be careful and agree on the extra development that this can result in. SOLD! I was on the fence and now feel comfortable moving forward with the purchase. Thanks again for the content and response! 💕

I love all of these! AND that you have so many spaces for books. Not just one. I’m excited to have my little one next month and surround her with books too. I also appreciate your DIYs and little things you did to make the spaces so beautiful and functional! 💕

I’d love to hear any korean toddler book recommendations you might have! I’m korean American and raising half korean daughters and am always looking for more korean toddler books! Also a video on Montessori language activities in Korean would be helpful if you have any to share!

Hi! Thanks for your comment. There are several book collections that i highly recommend based on our own experience, most of Korean books come in a large collection though. 1. 프뢰벨 영아다중 2. 그레이트북스 놀자 3. 돌잡이 한글수학시리즈 4. 추피의 생활동화 I hope this helps! 😉

Omg, I couldn’t help but notice all the Korean books she has. I’m an English speaker learning Korean & I'd like to include my son as well. Would love to learn more about bilingualism, how/where you shop for your books. Love seeing a Korean(/American ?) Montessori family. BIPOC Montessori families are underrepresented.

Hi! We buy most of her Korean books either directly from Korea or an online Korean bookstore in Sydney. (We're in Brisbane) We're Korean/Australian and speaking exclusively Korean at home but we're starting to introduce her English slowly so i'm now trying to learn more about bilingualism in Montessori perspectives. So it is definitely something I'd make a video in the near future!

@@hazieandmotherhood thank you! Do you have any recommendations for books? Especially since you practice Montessori at home, I'd love to see what you've picked up for her. Might be a cool video idea. Also, I know some families do the one parent-one language approach. Whoever’s the native speaker in that language will primary only speak that language to the child. She’ll definitely pick it up quickly! Don’t worry!

So inspired by you and how you teach your daughter! My baby is turning 1 next week and we live in such a small apartment. Hopefully will have a little more space to Montessori in future. For now; we will do what we can ❤

Thank you for the useful tips. I have been pondering how to display books best, because we read a lot of books in our house, and at the moment, they end up piled up all over the living room! I have a question on a different topic: where are the wooden farm animal figurines you show in this video from (using them to match with the pictures in the book)? I have been looking for realistic wooden animals, but so far, the only ones I have found have been eye-wateringly expensive!
@hazieandmotherhood Жыл бұрын
Hi, the wooden farm animal figurines are from Kmart Australia and they were like $10, so Alina enjoyed playing with them when she was younger (around 1 year old), but they are definitely not "realistic". So I am not sure if I wanna recommend those. If you are in Australia, realistic looking farm animal figurines are available in Kmart at $20, but if you're not, i found two different types on Amazon, check out if you like them. amzn.to/3TMNdjD amzn.to/3Dqm6pu Hope this helps!!!

She definitely did when she was younger and then just like other things, she learned to be careful around it and now she is taller than the table so we no longer have issues with the table 😉
