Kate, I discovered your channel by chance although as I am also a Believer, I don't really think it was by chance at all! It's so lovely to find someone who gives all the glory to the Lord and this, along with your excellent information and gentle manner that keeps me following! Watching the replay, I'm really just confirming your suggestion to keeping with a theme, subject, product. I create three different types of products that are unrelated to each other but the common theme (most of the time) is I use high quality second-hand fabric. Some of the ornaments I make aren't with repurposed fabrics but those I've purchased from small businesses, some on Etsy. I'm considering having a separate shop for those but am not sure. These ornaments are military service related as well as others Americana related...but I have other ornaments as well. Just curious what you think ❤️✝️❤️

How do we go about finding influencers? I upcycle mainly furniture, small articles and lighting(repair, repaint and/or stain). What type of freebie could I offer? I work with my Hubby, a carpenter, and we have started last Fall (2021). We are trying to limit our footprint and help keep furniture out of landfills and dumps. Question… First, I love your videos and find you very easy to listen to. My Etsy shop is labeled as accessories for women, children and teens with many products overlapping from one age group to another. Mostly jewelry but my medium varies from hand made polymer clay items and beads to store bought pendants I have assembled on chains, etc. Should I have different stores for different age groups, or different mediums, etc? Hey Melissa! Great question. It sounds like you have a clear enough niche- if you sell only jewelry, there’s no need to split up age groups or mediums- it’s still clear enough :)

I would be very careful about sending messages to people that favor your things on Etsy. Because of Star Seller, people get dinged (can lose star seller) if they don't see the message and reply. Plus I visit the forums of Etsy a lot, and people talk about this and most say DO NOT DO THIS, although you can make a coupon through Ety where it will automatically be sent to them after they favor something of your, or put something in your cart but don't buy. I think it may even be against etsy rules? (to send messages when people favor your items)

Yes, best to use the feature Etsy offers to send a coupon to those who have added to their cart!

???? Can you clarify what a landing page is and where it would be posted? Do you use your business domain name?

The landing page is the page that people will be directed to to sign up for your email list and receive the free lead magnet you have offered in return. It’s not a full website- just one page for the sole purpose of getting leads to sign up for your email list. There are different software programs you can use to set up landing pages- I use convertkit. You can connect it with your domain via a subdomain!

If you’re going to invest time and money to market your stuff, might as well make your own site and drive traffic there. The whole point of selling on Etsy is to use their free traffic that will come if you have a desirable product, good SEO and a good 1st photo. Otherwise you’re just spending time and money driving traffic that will quickly click off to other people’s shops …

Hi friend, totally understand your perspective. Yes Etsy does have tons of organic traffic and that’s why so many choose the platform. Optimizing your listing is so important and play a huge role in being found. However, in order to make sales in the beginning and actually get your listings seen - you have to drive in external traffic through marketing strategies such as using social media, email marketing, etc.

Hi, I am a teacher doing really well on teachers pay teachers, however my Etsy shop has only generated a little over 100 sales in the last 3 months. I am using the same photos, printable and key words. My listings for teachers pay teachers rank on the 1st or 2nd page but I can’t get my listing to rank on Etsy. what equestrian products do you think will be trending this year? I am an equestrian and hope to start a shop for equestrian products wrapped with or made out of paracord (i.e. bridles, hoof picks, breast collars, neck ropes, and saddle straps). The products will be customizable with colors and for a few item the style will be an option too. I know horse products are not super popular on easy but I think it would just be a fun side thing that I enjoy. Also I am under 18 and was wondering if easy automatically takes out the tax you have to pay or if thats something i will have to figure out with my mom on how to pay them? Also If the item is personalized and made to order if you select made to order when making the listing do you ever have to renew the listing since you have to wait for the order?
