Just moved into a 55+ neighborhood. They have a weekly craft class that I attended last evening. We learned how to make bows. Our teacher creates wreaths to sell at local craft fairs and I was intrigued. Today I hit Dollar Tree and bought $30+ worth of ribbon and a 14” frame. I’m going to attempt to make a fall wreath for my front door! Your tutorial has been a lifesaver!! Thank you so much for the easy to follow instructions and demos. New subscriber here😊

Thank you Dave for your beginner's video o wreathmaking. I love the curly ribbon method. I don't have a 7 inch mat so I used a piece of cardboard and made a template strengthening it with craft sticks. It really works well, the craft sticks keeps the cardboard from bending. This is my absolute favorite way of making wreaths. 😊

I really like how you show step by step instructions. I really appreciate you showing us people who are on a budget in how to the put the chenille stems that go on a wreath before you start. Most people tell you they purchased them already on which is a little costy. and I like how you showed so many different kinds of design. I have purchased alot of 6" mesh and alot of the tutorials I've seen only tell how to use 10" and bigger so now I know I can use up my 6". Thank you very much for your time you took to make this tutorial.

Hey, Dave. Best tutorial on wreath making I've seen. Very easy to follow and I can see exactly what you are doing. Camera angle is perfect. No pudgy fingers in the way - ha! Recently got back into wreath making after many years and the first one I made was a burlap one, my favorite. Now I'm branching out and need to step it up using mesh. I found using mesh a little daunting because of the fraying but a wood burning tool has taken care of that. I'm bookmarking this video!! Thanks for your creativity!!

@pksmith12753 жыл бұрын
@@DavesWreaths Hello! I have used my wood burning tool. You have to use them in a well ventilated area. I prefer to use mine outdoors. When cutting through mesh it gives off a vapor-like smoke and you don't want to inhale that. A mask is recommended or, if using indoors, a respirator. I prefer outdoors. The wood burner seals the ends of the mesh as it cuts and NO FRAYING - Yahoo!! I suggest cutting your mesh on a piece of smooth wood. A glass cutting board is a little slippery. It takes a few cuts to get used to it. I use the tool point that looks like the end of a ballpoint pen. (comes with several interchangeable points). Very pleased with this method of cutting mesh although it's a bit different. Happy weekend!

Hi Dave. Thank you so much for such clear instructions. I was so inspired after watching this video that I stayed up until a little after 5 a.m. and finished prepping for my curls Halloween wreath. Since I did not have to go to work because of Henri, after breakfast I got started attaching my curl bundles. It was so easy and so efficient. I am so pleased with how my base turned out. Now I have to figure out how to embellish. Now the real fun begins. =)

Hi Kare....OH WOW!!!!! 5am!!! LOL. That's amazing. I'm soooo happy that you were that inspired!!! You must have had a lot of coffee to keep you going up till that hour. I'm so glad that your base curly wreath turned out the way you wanted it too. You are so right, the real fun is adding all the embellishments and your own personal flare to it. That's what makes wreath making SO much fun for me! Thanks for such an amazing message, you totally made my day.

The tip on wrapping and the deco mesh around your cutting board was a light bulb moment. Also thanks for including the comment about not letting it go after you cut one side. I just did this and it saved me so much time and snagged clothes. I also like that you don't wrap the mesh so tightly. I like a mixed look and was getting frustrated.

I saw a wreath that I want to replicate and I was trying to figure out how this deco mesh wreath was made. I have made wreaths using a couple of the methods myself, but didn't recognize the method used for this wreath. Your video helped me to figure it out. It looks like the bubble method. The only difference is that they have attached cut pieces of coordinating ribbon at some of the indentions where the mesh is attached to the wreath form. I think I will try this to see how it comes out. Great, easy to understand tutorial!

I just watched your tutorial on making a deco mesh wreath! What a great tutorial. You make it look so easy. I just bought mesh from the Dollar Tree earlier today, didn't know what I was going to do with it. Now I do! I've subscribed to your channel! 😃

I've always wanted to try one but felt they look difficult so I've intimidated. After watching your video I now know it's not and am anxious to complete one using the bubble method. As an FYI the Dollar Tree rolls are now 5 yards and the lasted shipment is only 3 yards. Hoping I'll be able to complete it with the 6 rolls. Thanks for your explanation and demonstration!
@DavesWreaths2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marci. Thank you so much and I'm so glad you're going to jump right in and give it a try. I noticed they are 5 yards now, but I haven't seen the ones that are only 3 yards. That's a big difference from before. Hope it all works out for you and have fun!!! Take care. 😊

Thank you for this video. I have made a few wreaths but always over think it or get frustrated. I appreciate that you explain and show at the same time. I'm so excited to try and make a bubble wreath. My first was a cut roll and twist. But with all of the extra pieces that came off the deco I was irritated.
