Not really bro. They taught her conventional and then went on to do Sumo, not really fair is it. Sumo has a way smaller range-of-motion and hence is easier to lift with since their legs are more widened so its easier to reach the thighs. Its just a cheap way to perform a deadlift.

It’s Latte! Thank you all for the outpouring of support. I am just slow to respond. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and kindness to all us women involved. I hope more of you can look into lifting differently than before if you were unsure. Stay safe everyone!💜 PS: I am an EMT, not a fireman. I just started volunteer fire recently but my main experience is in an ambulance. We use firemen on calls, hence the joke. I also want to clear up using “beaten to death” to really mean beaten badly and for a long period of time. Nerves got the best of me to relive it. EMS is how I am paying back the fire/pd officers who intervened and helped me. 💜

10:04 You just lifted 205lbs despite not having ANY weightlifting experience, and you DEFINITELY had more in you. You are literally by far the strongest one of them naturally, it's just that they have experience in lifting. If you even try lifting for 6 months only you can easily beat all their numbers.. so yes, SIZE does play a huge factor in this, especially among women.

Men constantly try to approach me. But, I have been sexually assaulted several times. I have been followed home and peaked at through my windows. I have had far more scary encounters with men than any of my friends have. even as a minor a police officer sexualized me and made me feel afraid. Pretty privilege isn't always worth the fear that comes with it.

Love how healthy relationships between women athletes are. I don't always have the best luck making and keeping female friends but it's no problem at the gym. Sports is the best thing a girl can get into. Side note: Bre mentioned being surprised at small women lifting more. This is actually common. The smaller a person's limbs, the more concentrated muscle mass is and smaller the distance they have to move the weight.

Strong women are definitely empowered women. I think prioritizing health and fitness are important. It's not just for women, but for men as well as queer people and people of other minorities. Basically I mean all people. Losing weight or keeping yourself healthy and fit all the time aren't that easy to keep up with. You've got to have self-discipline each step of the way.
