if you feel like you him you gon get there gang hold yourself just like carti and these other rappers do its all about how you see yourself and then portray yourself to the world . work on fewer projects work on something unique think some big . think about how you gon make a impact in the mainstream industry . Luck is a factor a lot of new gen rappers ass and sound the same but they still relevant somehow . find where you stand and how you want to be seen as in the industry and just keep making good music gang .

definitely needed that last tip. i got to 80k monthly listeners last year october, was dropping consistently, but my short form content never helped me capitalize on the success i was getting. 3 months later, i dropped to 20k and ive been stuck on this loop between 20k-40k monthly listeners since. But that last tip about not looking at the numbers? i’ll that follow for sure - same with the tip on not judging my progress from the numbers. Again, losing 40k monthly listeners takes an insane toll on you when you keep focusing on it, especially when you were close to reaching your main goal of 100k.
@sunlight042 ай бұрын
take it from me bro i know, people who have never reached higher numbers wouldn’t understand. it comes with fear, shame, and self doubt all at once, your income drops, and you lose all momentum.
@azurreh2 ай бұрын
@@sunlight04yupp, set out a goal last year january to hit 100k by the end of the year - as soon as i was about to hit it though, all momentum lost. I got placed on an editorial playlist too and then removed within 3 months + spotify added 9 other songs to it and removed it within the same day. It takes a huge toll on your mindset and mentality because i literally manifested and told myself everyday id do it and i was doing it but idk what happened. I try to practice gratitude too though, telling myself that if i got close to 100k before, i can do it again. It’s just insanely degrading to do because even trying to switch the direction of my music with success is difficult since the 20k i still have left mainly enjoy the songs that got me to this position in the first place. I’d never quit but there’d be days where i want to give up but my hatred of losing pushes me to keep going. It’s painful as it is now but i’d rather save what i have now instead of losing it all. We’ll get back there again someday, i know it. Oh and there’s more but i don’t want to ramble on about my own problems but again yeah, someday.
@realchix2 ай бұрын
tbh you just gotta shift your perspective from "I had 80.000 monthly listeners and now I only have 20.000 :(" to "damn I really got 20.000 people listening to my music every single month". (+think about your listeners in the terms of your all time listeners, that's a metric that can never drop it just keeps increasing). when it comes to mental health and not caring about numbers, the most important thing is gratitiude. if you take your 20k monthly for granted then it's easy to fall into an endless loop of always chasing a bigger goal. cuz when u hit 100k without gratitute ur gonna want 1M, then 10M and so on. but once you shift your mindset to realize that the whole journey is way more important than any milestone, that's when you've won fr. and that's when u stop comparing yourself to others cause you realize that everyone has their own journey. (the mental shift won't happen overnight it's gonna take some months, but as long as you keep this kind of advice in mind you're gonna be better off mentally than even artists with millions of monthly listeners, cuz people at all levels of success struggle with this)
@azurreh2 ай бұрын

the fact that everyone watching cares more about fame than music itself is the reason y'all are even here. its not rocket science, if your music sounds good to a group of people, it'll follow and work. if it doesn't, it just doesn't.

I wanna believe you but I don't. I used to release music. spent years "perfecting" my craft till I thought it was good enough. spent a few years releasing as much as I could consistently. I believed in myself till I went a few years of pouring my heart and soul and countless hours into it and not seeing the results, Paired with seeing countless other artists around me who were and are still making extremely high quality music who were just never seeing the results they should have been getting, and still aren't. I fully believe its not about the quality of the product. It's about marketing and knowing people. After that, the bar for quality is very low. I know people will think "you just need to believe." and again, I want to, but that feels like complete delusion. Like I'm aware that id be lying to myself.
