I was building a concrete driveway in my front yard. I got lots of comments from people who walked by. Two young LDS missionaries came by, and they asked me if I needed help. I knew, in that second, that they are serious. My work was finished for that day. They said, they will come back next day, and they bring eight more people to work and finish the job. I had other plans for the next day. I still think: there is something right with these guys.

im exploring mormonism... what I've come to believe is that if you belief in something, having true faith it becomes real to you..and if that belief gives you strength, hope, courage, happiness and changes you in a positive way then it doesn't matter what others think or say.
@leviroseii4251
@leviroseii4251 4 жыл бұрын
Your Right, it doesn't matter what others think. All that Matters is What God SAYS! My recommendation would be to not necessarily explore Mormonism or any other religion/denomination, but rather Explore what God has written in His word (the old and new testament) I recommend starting with the book of John. Remember it's not about our feelings or our emotions or even some positive changes that have occurred in our lives. The bible clearly teaches that the only way to Heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as Your Saviour. Jesus Said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6

@BillPolhemus
@BillPolhemus 4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but this is incorrect. Actually if you DO read the King Follett sermon this is EXACTLY what the prophet of the latter-days proclaimed. For example, the transcript of the King Follett discourse states: "I wish to go back to the beginning-to the morn of creation. There is the starting point for us to look to, in order to understand and be fully acquainted with the mind, purposes and decrees of the Great Eloheim, who sits in yonder heavens as he did at the creation of the world. It is necessary for us to have an understanding of God himself in the beginning." Thus, Joseph spoke of God's creation of the world. I understand that you may not agree with Joseph's explanation, but you are simply misstating what was said if you try to claim he "refutes God." He most certainly refuted the common conception of God, which we believe is in error, but he does not refute God by any stretch of the imagination.

If Jesus who is God and Human lived a perfect life to die for our sins and fulfilled the old testament scriptures which the new testament testifies. Why did God need another prophet Joseph Smith to claim God made a mistake which God is perfect and cannot to, start a new religion? Why Does the LDS church think they need Joseph Smiths doctrine? Joseph Smith is what Jesus said a false teacher/prophet would be like. Who is wrong Jesus the Son of God or Joseph Smith the sinner like us all who is imperfect?

If you read Paul, he'll tell you that already the Christian church was falling into apostasy. That continued as Rome did its thing, killing numerous saints. The early Christian church became the Catholic church and doctrines and ordinances were changed, modified, or dropped. For over 1,000 years, The Catholic church was the only Christian church, and any descent was dealt with by death. Many theologians left the Catholic church and started their own church. Today there are over 1,500 Christian churches, all of them basing their doctrine on the Bible, yet all of them having different doctrine, beliefs, ordinances. That's why there had to be a restoration of Jesus Christ's church: a great apostasy, with many men starting their own churches. Jesus Christ himself restored his church through a prophet. And just FYI, NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that prophets are no longer necessary. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and just because Jesus organized his church then performed his Atonement doesn't mean that prophets aren't necessary to 1) testify of God the Father and Jesus Christ; 2) to speak on behalf of the Lord for the church; and 3) to prophesy. Joseph Smith did NOT start a new religion: he restored Jesus Christ's true religion AND authority that were taken by the great apostasy.

True, but out of context. We believe heaven means becoming like Christ and His Father. We will be able to create as they do--but, they made a lot more than one planet! (see Revelations 21:7) We are all children of Our Father in Heaven. Christ is His Only Begotten in the Flesh, but he is the Father of ALL our spirits. (Heb. 12:9). So, by that definition, Christ and Lucifer are brothers. But then, they are both "our brothers" as well. Thank heaven we all are different and not dependent on our misguided family members to define ourselves.

If someone today claimed God told them they were a prophet and to read ancient texts that no one else can read, then they can write what ever religious text they want and shape their ideal religion. I have a message that I’m sharing where I can, some may not want to hear this, but I ask that we stay polite and seek truth together. 😊 Love is an action. Feed the hungry, house the homeless, father the orphan, and protect the defenseless and vulnerable. Read the Word for yourself, not only relying on others for guidance. Pray for guidance.Yahushua/Yeshua - His Hebrew name who is usually called (Jesus) taught to keep the whole Word. Including the Law/Torah. Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [g]the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19 Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [h]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [i]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Read 1 John. John tells us that sin is lawlessness, and that we must keep the commandments. Trust in the atonement of Yahushua/Yeshua who is usually called Jesus, and keep God (YHWH)'s whole Word/commandments. Revelation 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Go to parableofthevineyard youtube channel for information about the bible and good bible studies. I'm in no way paid or sent by him for advertising. I just have learned a lot from his content. @@chischilisnez7811 why does your faith motivate you to say rude things to people online? You might want to take a look at that. WWJD and all.

@@O2life Rude? When is it rude to speak truth? Jesus often called the Pharisees "hypocrites." He often accused them of demanding the people keep the numerous Mosaic laws while they themselves often violated them. Jesus took a whip to the money changers in the temple. That's where I learned to shine a light on the truth, unlike the man who posted the ignorant post. I'm wondering why you didn't send this post to her?
