I have a friend aged around fifty and she told me she used to be involved in the industry in her twenties, she cut all connections with her old life, got clean, went back to college, built her life and now has a home and career, she's one of the strongest women I know.

I have a childhood friend who became an adult film star. She retired a number of years ago and is no longer active on social media. She struggled greatly with drugs both in her teen years and into adulthood, and every time I watch one of these videos I have a sickening feeling in my stomach that doesn't subside until the end is reached and she was not shown.

An appalling indictment on the porn industry. The vast majority of these young women coped with the brutality of their work by dulling the pain with drugs and either overdosed or took their own lives deliberately. Others died through violence. A handful died due to other accidental or medical reasons but the pattern is clear. The porn industry literally consumes people while society in general plays its part by stigmatising them. In the end they have nowhere to turn. The whole industry ought to be very heavily regulated for everyone’s sake.

I once had a service escorting female strippers on personal errands. Mostly taking them to spend time with friends and families or their children to the doctors. Many times they would tell me of offers they were considering to do porn and it bothered them greatly about what they referred to as crossing the line. I usually advised them not to . I knew the industry. A lot of mind control and emotional blackmail. They felt it was like selling their souls.
