Hey Travis Both cars sound pretty awesome and it’s really cool that they’re the same year and same colour! I wouldn’t ditch those old manifolds with the broken studs, they are easy enough to get out, if you heat the stud area on the manifold up cherry red with a torch, they’ll unscrew with some vice grips or drill and retap if they’re broken flush. Always good to have extra manifolds on hand. Love the wide whites on the truck, I have them on my 41 Ford pickup and look really cool.

That Impala is fantastic. Such a good vehicle after abandoned for such a long time and the fact the engine and transmission are still working fine is incredible. The paint"restore"was also great. That two tone has to be the best colour combo on that car. I really like your style of fixing things the way it was ment to be while maintaining the originality of the car. As a classic car mechanic myself i highly respect that. You've earned my sub👍👌

@MaxGiganteum I'm clear on the run off from the roof... the rust on the roof could come from tiny pits in the paint and then it spreads over the entire surface like moss over a rock. is that correct? is there anything in the paint itself that could rust over decades? it's actually a serious question coz I have seen run off stains but not from a rusted over intact roof. that why I'm a bit puzzled over this roof.

* Hey Travis & Dad ! Haven't check in in a while. Everything is coming along nice. Personally I would have used the red rims to add a little "Pop" to the old gal (46IH) I still love that one. I subscribed to follow her when you dug her out of that yard. I want to thankyou for the Trimotor Ride. Seen a lot of those in museums but never footage from inside during a flight. I got a 1957 Chevy big window pickup from a customer of mine about 10 years ago. It was sitting on the side of their house on blocks. It was covered in 4 different colors of primer. I took it to my warehouse and started HAND SANDING it with 1000 grit wetsand paper. I soon noticed there was a cool teal blue color underneath. After about 2 weeks of meticulous, tedious work I brought it back to life. What a cool color and a bad ass old truck. It’s now in storage. I need to bring that thing back to life….

I also loved the trip on the Ford Tri Motor. I got to go to an airshow about 10 years ago just before my Dad passed away. We got to climb around the inside of a B-24 Liberator bomber which he piloted in WWII. Man !!!! Did they ever build stuff tough back in those days !!

I'd love to see you do a full replacement on your headliner. Mine is cloth and wearing through in places. Not falling down into my head or anything. Just showing it's 64 year age! I got a "Fix Your Chevy" book with my car. The people who bought it kept it all this time. Shows how to do anything and everything! 👍 Had a couple of service receipts. First service was 5/1960. Was purchased at Edge Chevrolet in Baker, Oregon! Lol Baker isn't very big even now. I can't imagine how tiny of a town it must have been in 1960 ! Lol That book and these receipts are pretty darn co0ol! One stick-on oil change tag on the door jam too. These are little treasures of these old classics! 💯 Trust me when I tell you I am riding with you whenever you make a video about your 1960 Impala. Too bad I'm in Beaverton, OR and you're in Tucson, AZ. If you were closer I'd drive mine over for us to have the "Sisters" have a chance to catch up! I got to see one at the Santa Monica airport ramp when I was a kid and my father and I took pictures of it and I just dreamed of getting a ride in it. You’ve inspired me to go find a place where I can get a ride in that plane. Car looks great and the exhaust sounds a lot better now. Love what you did with the paint. New Sub! Found you from NNKH, and what caught my eye was the 60 Impala. AWESOME work on the paint restoration!! I grew up working on a red 60 Impala with my Pops that had chrome fender skirts. Do you still have it, and if so are you planning on selling it? Gonna go check out the other videos of you rescuing her. I've been looking for a complete 60 for years, but just haven't found the right one yet. The car sounds great with the new exhaust!! Love the El Camino too!! Appreciate what you guys do!!! Travis, if I remember correctly, mechanical car clocks evolved to a point that they would self-adjust a little bit when you reset the time, meaning, if the clock ran slow and you advance the time to correct it, the mechanism would slightly speed up the clock, after maybe several resets the clock eventually ran correctly. not sure if this was true in 1960 or not, but if your clock lacks the adjustment the '56 Caddy has, just let it run until it gets like 20 or 30 minutes behind, reset it every time it gets 20 or 30 behind and see if it starts doing better. if the interval between resets gets longer and longer, it's working!

My first car in 1972 was a Baby Blue 4 door hardtop with white roof and white spears down the side....EXACTLY the same as yours!! Same exact interior too. I only had the 235 straight six though. I LOVED that car!! It died because here in Massachusetts the salt ate away at the frame right where the middle bearing for the driveshaft is. I cried when they towed it away. BUT !!!! 3 months later, I found a 1960 El Camino with a 327 Corvette solid lifter 3 speed manual not far away!!! I bought it for $900. I drove it all thru high school. Later in life...when mortgage and kids etc were my responsiblities...I sold it in a moment of weekness for next to nothing. Biggest mistake ever. You guys are great! The chemistry of you and your Dad are what made this country. Rock On !!! Kevin....from just outside of Boston.

Yes, and the car would look much better...I like original paint if it isn't too far gone(like maybe a few thin spots), but that paint is WAYY too far gone, plus it has rust and dents that need to be addressed before they get worse..I'm totally over the patina fad, it has been carried way too far...I'd drive it and enjoy the "patina" thing while I addressed all the mechanical issues, fix those first...then, fix the rust, fix the dents, paint it back the original color, fix the missing/bent chrome, interior and you will have a gem...

I watched your 2500 mile trip and your trouble with wheel bearings my dad had a 1960 with the same engine and carburetor only it was a three on the tree he was always having trouble with front wheel bearings and wiring a blown head gasket finally convinced my Dad to sell it watching your videos brought back so many memories thanks so much
