Expansion valve is correct ans as it cannot handle moisture i e moisture get converted into solid ice crystals and can block the flow...(On T-S diagram liquid state of refrigerant is shown not water(moisture)

for 39th question moisture in the refrigerant affects working of compressor not the expansion valve. because during throttling there is moisture present but during compression no moisture is allowed

I appreciate your kind concern Rohit but I have found in many of books that moisture contains vapour H2O thereby freezing it and significantly affects the expansion valve I might be wrong kindly allow me some time to crosscheck and correct it. I hope you understand as well.

In expansion valve the moisture gets convert in snow and that's why it get choked.. hence no moisture should be there through valve

see the vapour compressoin cycle. in vc cycle operation of compressor is always in vapour region but for expansoin valve it is in wet region and refrigerant is not water, it is R12 so there is not a question of freezing it and its freezing point is well below evaporator saturation tempereature

Nice video sir....But I have a doubt about the answer of question no 39... Moisture in refrigerant affects the working compressor....It need purely vapour at its inlet to do less work...Since specific volume of vapour is less as compared with moisture containing refrigerant

One doubt sir turbulent flow occurs at 4000 Re or 2800Re? Some sources says its 4000 and some 2800 Thank you for support and your efforts.

See Sagar, Laminar flow generally occurs when the Reynolds number is less than 2000. Turbulent flow occurs at an Re above 4000 and transitional flow occurs between 2000 and 4000. I hope this might help you. Stay tuned and DO share.
