@@ianbeddowes5362 hello misters! born in Kraków, Poland in 1966. no black people at all. suddenly in very early eighties reggae and punk became our weapon to fight communist regime. probably echoes of London at the time? sounds funny but we adopted reggae almost as our folk music. probably censorship couldn't handle that exotic sounds properly ;-P many of major politically engaged bands played reggae/punk and others did so. serious part ends, funny one begins: there goes my present girlfriend who studied classical music at the time and went to the dancehall where reggae was played all night long. after that reggae night long she felt so sick of it that she always says "I hate reggae, forever!" so I sometimes try to convince her that maybe it was "bad reggae" - you know, like bad icecream 😀 so... I wandered to this playlist cause I promised her proof that reggae isn't bad. and she promised to listen to it without prejudice, cause she loves me and trusts my good taste in music 😀 and you know what? she went asleep quietly after two songs and I'm listening to this compilation alone but happy to share that experience with you. that's reggae power - force by joy and being right. PS. I'll try convert her again someday ;-)

.....yes I agree..... authenticity seems more and more difficult to find these days.....pressures of modern life with social media, cell phones, terrorism, war, global warming....all adds up to make life and living it in a virtual way, perhaps more appealing.....loved the relative simplicity of those old times....I'm 70....happy to be that knowing that I lived, and in the best of times......
