Good video, Barry Needham was on the EWS coal desk at Doncaster and was killed at Great Heck going to work. Class 60's always needed extra TLC and were not a patch on class 66 reliability .

Very impressive standing start! Have always liked the 60’s and consider them a very unloved and undervalued class, just like the 92’s, but reliability issues aside, they will blow the socks off a 66. Good to see that other freight operators appreciate them rather more than DB do! Nice vid! You have a like and a new subscriber.

Great loco's when their behaving themselves , worked on them since their introduction , driven a few ,they will pull nearly anything so quiet in the cab , rode few on acceptance trials and they were game changer when introduced

They served well for a good few years. Shame to see the scrap line at Toton. Changing this particular working to 2 66s doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe better reliability but double the fuel. Doesn't run 6 days a week now.

Great locomotives and they do sound very similar to the GE Dash 8's in my opinion.

They certainly made a noise when they went past. Made the place vibrate.

With the summer though a lot of greenery has grown now so the view is a bit different now

Not very often you find a 60 having an argument with a heavy train, although as you can see the argument was soon won. You move or the coupling gets torn out.

It's not really struggling, it's just taking the strain between the wagons to prevent snatching

@@alstonofalltrades3142 oh sorry I thought you were being obtuse. The loco will start off slow to take up the slack between the couplings to avoid putting a sharp load on. Bit like when you tow a car, take up the slack in the rope first

Nice video . I heard some wheel spin and sand grinding under the wheels . Are you in your back garden of your home ? When you took that .

Yes that's the view we have for now until the summer eventually arrives then it'll be all overgrown I expect.

You make the best of Gloucester but its not a great location. I used to go train spotting in my teens and be happy to wait 10 - 15 mins between trains but now its so much easier to watch youtube clips and requires no patience. Keep up the good work.

The only problem here is the avoiding line. I always need to work between the 2. This video was filmed from our back garden. Great spot to live. Freight has started dying out a little now but on the passenger side its getting a little more interesting with the imminent start of the IEPs with GWR and class 166s from the Thames Valley services. Keep an eye on my channel. Always plenty going on.
