I have used a NUX CH3 at $35.00 USD that is killer. Years ago NUX made a line of pedals that they discontinued years ago. In fact they are at least on their 3rd edition of pedals each edition a totally different pedal in a different casing. Yet the CH3 has weathered every change in their line which speaks well for its quality of sound etc.I once sold mine in favour of a Strymon pedal.A year later I bought the Nix CH3 for a second time. It's that good. I am sure based on the old Boss CE-2 ...now brought back as a Waza Craft.

@raceface_m25794 жыл бұрын
Cloud chorus sounds good- got the right balance and not too much treble compared to the others. The Azor for simplicity. The azor sounds very close to the other sonicake. But the other sonicake offers a bit more features. They’re all great, but I guess they all offer something each player needs.

I'm looking for a mini-pedal for a compact pedal board. I have an EHX Epitome with the "electric mistress" that has chorus which can sound like a Leslie speaker. Their stand-alone is just a flanger, which I don't use for that sound.
@markharwood75734 жыл бұрын
Going by the sizes, the Behringer may be the only one that can run on a battery. That said, you can buy a connector for battery to DC input. The stereo function might be worth more than the subtleties of tone for some folks too. But that Kmise is a beaut!
@Wildmutationblu Жыл бұрын
I thought the Sonicake Dimension pedal won. There are different Chorus effects on the pedal including a stereo option plus other cool stuff.

How could you do a chorus demo and not play "come As You Are"? Awesome video. I've been considering the Sonicake multi effects and wondering what the chorus sounds like (I'm a big chorus fan). I love your affordaboard series, no other (good) reviewers are covering these budget pedals. They're the reason I subscribed. Best wishes!

I have a Kmise Phaser and tremolo and they don't pop like the Kmise analog chorus, which I thought sounded the best BTW. I think I'll get the blue chorus. I already have the Amoon chorus, which sounds much like it, but has a level control which I keep on max anyway. The Kmise would look better on my board and one less knob to think about.

Hey Ryan - Curious: Have you ever tried making an all-Joyo afford-a-board? Like many others, I'm sure, I have become a pedal collector (mostly ODs & distortions) since COVID. I discovered the Joyo brand via Henning Pauly, and I have to say IMO they are pretty decent pedals. And I'm talking about the old school pedals, not the fancy ones with the lights (although they're nice too). I mean I think their Classic Chorus is really nice. I could definitely see myself doing an all-Joyo pedalboard. What say you?
@JoelZephead4 жыл бұрын
You missed one! Twinote's Analog Chorus! Dirt cheap, has a blend knob and sounds very good! Edit: I know you're just doing pedals you already have around, but just keep this one in mind in case you do cheap chorus again

I have the Behringer. The only thing it has going for it is the stereo output. The sound is unfortunately terrible. It kind of put a bad taste in my mouth for Behringer, so I've been looking elsewhere.

@@davidpersonful so you must hate the boss CH-1 that it's an exact copy off too I guess?
@davidpersonful3 жыл бұрын
@@ascendtranscend3812 If I were to pick a Boss chorus, it would have to be one of the Ensemble pedals. I'm just not personally a big fan of about half of the Boss pedals I've encountered. I do know that the Behringers are essentially Boss clones, but there has to be something sacrificed for that cheap price. Build quality exterior, yes because those are all plastic (still mostly durable unless one is a true stomper). But I'm wondering where the sound comes up short compared to Bosses (if at all). I'm still on a quest for the right affordable chorus. Haven't found it yet. Maybe it doesn't exist. I just picked up the Azor. I actually like the sound, but where it comes up short is the function. There is a horribly loud pop sound that comes out of it when clicking on. Thinking I had a defective one, I had them replace it and the same thing still happened. Anyways, that was a long story. I'm just thankful for dudes like the one in this video that actually cruises through these cheap pedals and not look down on them.

When reviewing chorus pedals it should be a law you must play Purple Rain immediately. And also use the neck pickup at least once. And a single coil guitar once also. Using P90s and always on bridge is never going to show the true character of any chorus pedal imo.

@DavidRavenMoon4 жыл бұрын
Personally I liked the first one the best,, from a pure classic chorus tone that I would actually use in a song. If I can critique two things, you spent too much time making goofy sounds with some of them that no one would actually use, or only for special effects, like the speed super fast or the depth too high. Or you went the other way and it’s too mild. Maybe start with a similar setting on all of them - by ear not setting the knobs the same - and then explore the more extreme settings. Also you should have had the Behringer in mono. That’s why it sounded so different. You have to have equal volume from each amp.
@picksalot14 жыл бұрын
I think a good Chorus should sound like how a good Champagne tastes - light, bubbly, clear, and refreshing. So, I preferred the Sonicake 5th Dimension, and the Kmise Analog Chorus. I didn't like the gimmicky features of some of the other pedals.

Pickups have no effect on sound unless you mean single coil to p90s to humbucker.. but a cheap humbucker and an expensive seymour Duncan pickup will sound the exact same.
