For those who didn't know, Allegro is a musical term which means that the notes in a song or in general are lively and high pitched. Agitate, of course means nervous and bothered. So, when Rin says 'Allegro Agitate' it refers to the laughter from the T.V. that makes her ears ring so loudly that she feels that she's going crazy. In her next line, the darkness from her room at night gives her a panic attack because she feels as though she's suffocating from the dark. Which then again leads into her next lines where she see's jumping into a fusion reactor will make the stuffiness and noise go away as if she fell asleep. This refers to why the song is Called 'Meltdown." and Roshin, meaning reactor core, and Yuukai, meaning abduction/melt. Which Roshin Yuukai means to "meltdown of a nuclear reaction core." Since, obviously, reactors are made of radioactive chemicals, they have the 'power' to give off light, like the electromagnetic Cherenkov radiation underwater. This can also have hidden undertones, with using the radiation, abduction, and melt, as somewhat of 'hints' (if that's a way to put it) This song can be interpreted as the loud laughter from the T.V. haunting her, which leads to her having a meltdown (obviously..lmao) and somehow is "Abducted into the Reactor" which can ALSO be turned into "Being taken into the Light" (since radioactive things are able to glow..) Just in case you weren't paying attention or wanted background from someone's thoughts about the background of the song. And also, TYSM for @matreshkaB for correcting my online translated Japanese. It was a big help and it also helped me rethink. Never searching for a translator unless it's from a website in which the founder speaks that language. My analysis makes NO sense, but I'm trying my best lmao.

I'd just like to post this analysis of mine here: Meltdown is a song about regretting who you used to be; when Rin talks about "diving into a nuclear reactor" and "the morning when (she's) gone" being a better world, it's meant to be taken as finally throwing that past self away and forgiving herself. If you watch the original PV, we see her crying while attacking a younger version of herself (in her dreams) multiple times. Later on, she's seen finally facing, then holding the hand of her younger self (during the bridge,) and then at the end the younger her falls into the reactor right before the older her is seen outside, enjoying the aforementioned better world without the weight of the past on her shoulders. While it can be interpreted as being about suicide, I think taking it the way it was originally intended is a lot more... inspiring. Edit: It's also noteworthy that this song specifically refers to "jumping into the core" of a nuclear reactor, which is awfully specific, and, if taken literally, not even possible. Taken figuratively though, the core of a nuclear reactor is where nuclear fission occurs, and the process of nuclear fission involves tearing apart old, unstable atoms to create newer and more stable ones. If it's talking about fusion rather than fission, that involves smaller atoms combining into bigger, better ones. Either of which could be taken as a very clever metaphor.

I do think this is about suicide. But also think that the song is also about forgiving/killing your past self and then suicide. either way, it's all suicide since the last part of the song - a beautiful morning without me - and the idea of jumping to a nuclear fusion being a good experience.
@reisenudongeininaba10484 жыл бұрын

Fun fact, jumping into an active fusion reactor probably wouldn't kill you. They can only run under very specific circumstances i.e. a vacuum. To access it then the vacuum would be compromised leading to an instant halt. IT would still hurt like hell but you could possibly survive. A fission reactor on the other hand would be fatal in a few years from the nuclear poisoning.

@kaoimizu9512 жыл бұрын
But what does it mean?
@alexlovesvulpix31642 жыл бұрын
@@kaoimizu951here's what I found from the wiki on this song. “Allegro” is a passage in tempo, which is a time motif, and “Agitate” which she is made troubled or nervous, shows how over time, her memories are affecting her worse and worse. “Ringing in ears, wont go away” that ringing in her ears is used to show her memories are even causing her physical pain, and she can’t escape her memories.
@Starshine7772 жыл бұрын
@@alexlovesvulpix3164 re: "Agitato" being mispronounced as "Agitate"? Tri-lingual pun, or translation error? There is a term in music "Allegro Agitato", from Italian, which means something like... yes, just what you said: fast, and also nervous, on-edge, etc. If the term "Allegro Agitato" popped up in music school in JP and were written in Katakana, the assumed way to say "Agitato" would be to drop the final "O" sound, since "agitate" is an English word and would be spelled the same in Katakana, and since many music words imported to Japan are from English. I have a silly hypothesis of why this could be a three-language joke, but it relies on the idea of a different misconception that nuclear reactors have a spinning element...

@@Starshine777 The Vocaloid software won't allow you to type in "ll" or "gr" if you are using Rin with a Japanese voice bank, because "ll" and "gr" can never occur in the Japanese language. By listening to Rin's voice while reading the romaji subtitles, my deduction is that they have typed "a re gu ro a ji te~~~" into the Vocaloid software. I can't hear any "to" actually...? This song...to me, at least, seems to be about self-destructive habits. If you take most things as a metaphor...she's hurting people, but she's crying about it, and she drives others away. Crying about it seems to be that it's not intended, either. She immediately switches to wondering about the nuclear reactor- like 'if everything ended, would everything be better? If I stopped living, would it be easier for those around me?' It's an interesting perspective, and definitely brain food...

Another common interpretation to the song is Rin singing about the end of her teenage years and taking a literal "dive" to adulthood. The days leading up to the end of most people's teenage years is the worst cause they get anxious and start shouldering responsibilities. Jumping into a nuclear reactor is interpreted as leaving her childhood tendencies. I like your take too though.

try to keep in mind that in Japan Suicide is actually common place and doesn't have the same implications as in the west. Most people know the country is the suicide capitol of the world, what they don't know is that about 60% of the suicides come after a terminal diagnosis. Most of the Japanese people I know, and I lived in Japan for four years, see more honor in suicide than fighting through cancer treatment that will only work 50% of the time. They see it as cruel to their families to make them watch as they waste away and die. Its sad, but I have to say I agree, I would much rather end my own life while still able to care for myself, than make my kids watch me turn into a husk. I watched my mother die of cancer, I wont do that to my own kids.

This song represents how I felt back then. Even once i dressed as Rin and my friends dressed like other vocaloids.Then everyone called us losers but we said "The pride of an Otaku".We ended up getting bullied a lot until at a talent show we got them back by dancing to a song made by Vocaloids and they were surprised. Every vocaloid song is made by fans??
@LivPC Жыл бұрын
@@xXInfinityDiesXxbasically, vocaloid is a series of 'voice banks', that you can buy and create things out of the sounds that are available. The company created 'personas' to represent each voice bank (Miku, Kaito, Meiko, Rin and Len, etc, and gave them some base characteristics), so it's easier for people to relate and personify them, but that's about it from the company that owns Vocaloid. The 'producers'/'creators' that you see in Vocaloid songs are all normal people that bought the voice bank and decided to create songs from it, create stories and videos out of them. It's why there isn't a lot of continuity between vocaloid song sagas (like the classic question 'are rin and len twins or lovers??', it's 'whatever the creator decided to do for this story, they're just a voice bank'). TL,DR: vocaloid is a series of voice banks, the songs are made by the community using said programs
