This was the Obama I voted for in 2008. This isn't the Obama that I refused to vote for in 2012. He absolutely changed his tone from his first to second term. In fact, his stance on illegal immigration in 2008 was hauntingly similar to that of Trump's in 2016. Obviously Obama sounded more eloquent, but the policies they both supported were almost identical. Most of the 700 miles of border structure that was built along the US Mexico border under the Secure Border Act of 2006 was built under the Obama administration in attempts to reduce illegal immigration. It wasn't anywhere near as effective or as big as the one built under Trump, but it was built for the very same purpose. To keep out illegal immigrants. Most people don't acknowledge this today or even know about it however because it likens Obama to Trump. But there's a lot of things people deny in order to reduce the that phenomena known as cognitive dissonance. The Truth Hurts Sometimes ;)
