Masha Allah Ustadh. I was asked on this matter by an older brother who out of curiosity saw me doing the shaking of the finger in tashahud. Being someone who would rather quote the evidences i told him that i would study the matter before i engage in debate. This video is something i will refer him and other brothers for beneficial evidence based descriptions of the prayer. I myself now will adopt the most authentic practice as mentioned. May Allah aza wajjal continue to open the way of correct Daw'wah and Bless and reward the Da'ee in their good works. Also As Ramadan 1442-1443 is nearly upon us i ask Allah aza wajjal to protect us all and accept our good deeds. Ameen!

There is a difference of opinion in hanabila whether to move your finger or not.Shaikh Uthman Ibn Farooq and Shaikh Saleh Al Fawzan follows the opinion of Imam Ibn Qudamah in Al Mughni and other books.Imam Hajjawi also follows the opinion of Imam Ibn Qudamah in Zad Al Mustaqni because his book is based on Al Muqni of Imam Ibn Qudamah.

السلام عليكم ورحمة اللّٰه وبركاته Sheikh جزاك اللّٰه خيرا What about LOOKING at the index finger during tashahhud? 📚It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that: He saw a man moving pebbles with his hand while praying. When he finished, 'Abdullah said to him: "Do not move the pebbles while you are praying, for that is from Shaitan. Rather do what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do." He said: "What did he used to do?" He said: "He would put his right hand on his right thigh, and point with the finger that is next to the thumb toward the Qiblah, and he would look at it, or thereabouts." Then he said: "This is what I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 1160)

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullāhi wa bakatuhu Sheikh, may Allāh preserve you, Ḥāfiz Abū Yaḥyā Noorpuri [ḥafiẓahullāh] also mentioned as proof for not moving the finger, a narration in ath-Thiqqāt li Ibn Hibbān [7/448], al-'Ilal li Daraqutni [2899], with a Ḥasan Isnād, as well as the statement from Imām ibn Abdul-Barr in al-Istiskār [1/478] and Imām Qurtubī in Tafsīr al-Qurtubī [1/361]. See as-Sunnah Jhelum [61-66/51] Like you mentioned, some Aimma see the ziayda in the narrations that mention moving as well, as accepted, as they are from a Thiqqah narrator, so is the position that one can choose between moving/not moving also a strong position?

A great knowledgeable person don't need a madhab. Madhab is for research and lay person. But he loves Hanbali madhab. Because in my humble opinion and his humble opinion is hanbali madhab is closest to sunnah. But a madhab cannot be 100% sahih. So, he study every madhab specially Hanbali madhab but when he found a Adillah he jump there explicitly.

Salam... Here in indo pak subcontinent people pray sunnah of fajr while fard is in progress.. Which is against the hadeees... But they give proofs from the practice of few sahaabas as their claim... Can sheikh uthman plz explain about it in a video? Jazakallah

There is no authentic hadith established from sahaba praying sunnah when iqama is being called. If a person enters the mosque and is praying the sunnah while the iqamah is called, then the best opinion in this case is that if he is in his second rak‘ah, he should shorten it, and if he is in the first rak‘ah, he should just break his prayer and enter the congregation with the Imam1. The evidence for this comes from what Imam Muslim has narrated in his Sahih: Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If iqamah is called for the prayer then there is no prayer except the obligatory one. (Sahih Muslim, 1/493) So, if one has performed the ruku‘ for the second rak‘ah, then he should complete the prayer, and if not, then he should discontinue because what is left from his sujud and tashahhud is not needed any more. Moreover, he should break without salaam, and it is enough to have the intention in the heart, contrary to common misconception.
