If builder can utilise the land, the house will be huge.

I'm Malaysian. Glen used to be quite Malaysian but no longer - it's now very PRC. It's ridiculously expensive. This mansion and its kind were obviously built by PRCs. After years of conversations, you'd find that many Aussies think this type of build looks ugly, at least from the outside, and in their views destroys the once unique individual beauty of suburbs like GW, Balwyn, Box Hill, and Camberwell. To the super-wealthy PRCs, it's like every inch of space must be utilised as much as possible - that's why there are now HUGE mansions like this in Sydney and Melbourne. And they normally crop up in PRCs-dominated suburbs.

Very good observation and analysis. In my childhood, GW and even Melbourne had many SE Asians like Singaporean and Malay, only a few Mainlanders. I think many Mainlanders came here with huge funds and showed off their soft and hard power by buying huge mansions after 2000s. Hope we all will be in harmony with local.

Can’t agree more with you comments. There are numerous mansions in GW these days but most are lack of genuine class, they are just large, grand but quality wise very questionable.
