Helpful hint for ya Nick, ride the shoreline instead of in the direct heaviest current in the middle of the river. It is taking more time n energy from your fishing by staying center. Give it a try n see how it works for ya n of course headin downstream is of no question. Lol. Stay safe on the big waterways n happy fishing.

The fish at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="450">7:30</a> was not a channel cat, it was a blue cat. You can tell this with any size fish in the future by looking at the anal fin. Also those were absolutely spotted bass, not mean mouth.

Sauk City Dam on the Wisconsin River during the fall season is a good time for sturgeon. You need a stamp to keep one. Or you could just say your catfishing since you probably won't keep one anyways.

I live in iowa lake sturgeon are incredibly rare in the rivers here, I have only ever caught one, in probably a thousand or more fishing trips over the years and it was DNR tagged (reported location) I did not even know what I had caught until many years later. looking back, I should have taken a dozen more pictures. 😅😂
