I just bought a new Player II. Got the 920D loaded “DG” style pickguards with the mini toggle. I’m gonna do that and a Tusq nut Monday. So stoked to install it. Not an inexpensive pickguard by any means. However having them already perfectly clean wiring and far better soldering than my hands are capable of and I’ve heard their QC and build quality is second to none.

Qualifier: I'm by no means an expert or have tons of experience with different brands of pickguards. This pickguard has to be one of the best, if not the best, assembled and best components aftermarket pickguards I've ever seen. As luck would have it, my favorite position is # 4. When I say I love the cleans on this pickguard in # 4, it would probably be the position I would use with this pickguard 95% of the time, at a minimum! Thank you for the information (and yes I've already checked out the website, and will keep it in mind before purchasing any loaded pickguards in the future) on 920D Custom Pickguards and for the great demo, review, and video. Please keep them coming!

Only thing that potentially matters to the sound regarding the wiring is the improved noise cancelation of the twisted pair. However, the Al shield around the pickups provides some protection from unshielded rheostat buzz.

Your "Monster Ballad" was good, but those pickups sound amazing. I may need to get those if the ones supplied by IYV are not favorable. Excellent video as expected!

How did I miss this one when it came out? Oh well. Anyway... the guitar turned out great. Looks cool and it sounds amazing. Love the song too. Awesome little 80s style power-ballad, and the lickage was nutz. Rock and roll forever Bro. The clean stuff reminded me of something Dokken would to at the beginning of some of their stuff.

Just spoke to metal dude and he said he approves of those pickups but he is slightly up set still you are using single coils. He also wanted me to tell you he gets out of rehab next week and he thinks he is over his addiction to Sprite Zero and Skittles. But he is taking it day by day.

Awesome! I have been using Musiclily would you say 920 is better?
@thebaldshredder2 жыл бұрын
I have some Musiclily stuff (pickups, bridge, neck) and it's all very good. But I haven't used any of their wiring or loaded pickguard so not sure if it would be as good as 920D Custom. I have a feeling the pots, wiring, and soldering are better on the 920D stuff.
@MrBinets Жыл бұрын
Newb here. Which pot did you solder the 3 set of green and white wires coming from the pickups? Just got mine but I couldn't find any diagram showing exactly. Thanks in advance!
@thebaldshredder Жыл бұрын
The whole pickguard was already prewired, so I only had to connect to the jack, and the ground wire. Sorry man.

Great but when you use the same kind of sound you used in the previous demo with the original pickups of this low budget guitar I prefer the original ones.
