I am currently in my 50s and This is no time to taper retirement savings. I want to max out my retirement contributions and I also have another $200k in a savings account that i want to invest in a non-retirement account. Where should I invest it now?

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments. Everyone should have BTC in their portfolio.

Absolutely! Profits are possible, especially now, but complex transactions should be handled by experienced market professionals.

Love this pension case study especially for public service retirees. You don’t see retiring with a pension case studies on you tube.

Retiring in 4 months at age 59, with a bit over $8K a month in pensions($7K a public sector one) with a partial COLA), a 403b, 401K and 457 totaling over $950K. No state tax on the pensions, own my retirement home in SC and have my medical all paid for life. Plus I get social security which I’m taking at 62. The 403b(the bulk of my retirement money)has a fixed state guaranteed 7% option. I think I’m in good shape.

If you retire in SC, your pensions are subject to state tax. I understand there has been a bill sponsored in the SC legislature to exempt the teacher and first responder pensions, but it died in committee.

@ I’m keeping my NY place too, where I’ll spend exactly 1 day more than 1/2 the year. In NY, government pensions are not taxed, neither is SS and the first $20K you withdraw from your 401K or 403b. Who said NY is a high tax state?

I really appreciate the case study with a pension. If you get a chance how about doing a single person case study with pension and COLA? Lots of single people out there.

I'm on my way to midwestern Millionaire! $550,000 in retirement accounts / 42 years old - 50K pension (retired police) starts in 13 years at age 55...

Members of pensions pay with every pay check. 3/4 of the money I pay in goes to current retirees. It’s very similar to how social security works. The issue is that many states weren’t collecting enough from workers or drastically underestimated how long people live. So the states and local govts underfunded the pensions. So, with the same logic anyone against pensions should also be against social security. but of course, the vast majority of Americans are not idiots and want to see SS survive. They are probably just jealous of poorly paid hard work public servants (cops, teachers, DMV workers etc) who only have a pension as the reason to stay at the job. Current Feds only get like 1/3 of final salary as a pension. Military about the same after 25 years in. States and local jurisdictions vary from but often give up social security if they have a very high pension.

Never buy a boat, especially in retirement. You can rent or join a boat club for a couple of years to get the experience without the associated pain.

This is why the goverment is broked 😂😂😂 ant taxes are higher always. these pensions are insane for "public servants" I hope Elon Takes care of this madness.

I have been paying for my half of my pension for the last 31 years of work. I believe that the general public thinks that a pension is just a gift at retirement. I pay 7% of my salary into my pension every paycheck, which is also matched by my employer. It is part of my salary. As a teacher, if I did not have a pension I would expect that I would have been payed a higher salary for the last 31 years. There is a tradeoff.
@termita35825 күн бұрын
@breehartley1627 I not against pensions. It is about the amount. 12k a month for life is equivalent to saving about 7.2 million after a 20 year career. No 7% savings is going to give you that balance. It is insane! Again, it is not about the pension. It is those crazy amounts.

@@breehartley1627People just don’t get this. I also paid into my pension and took a lower salary for years working for the state/city. Now that I’m retiring I just started my private practice(I’m a psychologist) and make as much money working 3 days a week as I did working 5 days a week.
