Thanks for sharing. I'm currently building a table, with 3x5 layout of base plates, though what I find interesting, is I'm using non genuine base plates, and they actually line up fine when pushed together, I had jusrt assumewd the genuine would be as good or better, so very interesting. Though I'm still using plates joined to them when measuring everything out.

Interesting - I was worried about the cost of doing a big table like this initially, but I think I managed to snag the official base plates when they were on sale for $5 instead of $10 on Amazon or something. How good is the connection with the off-brand base plates?

@@BenFinio nice bargin! The off brand base plates don't seem to have any issues, we've used some for a couple years now, still hold a large tower in place, and still no worries putting little things like plants, or even between stud placements. I've just ordered another pile for the new table I'm building. It's about 1/2 the price here compared to the genuine ones (on amazon), but the other reason is I wanted black base plates, so if it's not been used, it blends in more with the black stained coffee table I'm building. Your table looks great by the way. Have you figured out a way to solve this, or is it just what it is now? You could redo the edge moldings, or sand it back a bit from the inside or something, but depends how much it affects the kids play.

Ha, this is a few years old and I'm just now getting around to making a video. The molding is glued down and I have two kids now (built this when I only had one) so there's no fixing it at this point. The amount of sanding and painting it would take to "fix" would take time that at this rate I'm not going to have until they're in college.

I did the exact same thing 😢 and even did the same fix
