Question, I just started watching your videos and the binder that has your emergency fund, car maintenance etc. How did you figure out how much you wanted or needed to out in those envelopes? I do the savings challenges and when all done I do this part of it that you're doing, but struggle with how much to put in each. I have a total amount for what I hope to conquer.

For me I just divide it up! So for example if I want to save $1000 in my emergency fund by June. I would divide $1000 by 6. That would give me and idea of how much I need to put in the envelope to reach my goal.

Honestly sometimes I just wing it 😂 but if a category is more important I’ll put more in that one. Sometimes things change and my priorities shift. Like with car maintenance. At first I put in a little bit but an emergency came up and I didn’t have enough saved so I had to use extra money from my bank account (my buffer). That showed me I needed to start putting in more. Hope this helps!!! ❤️

Buffer is kind of like a mini cushion. So for instance say you spend a little more than you had in a category you can pull the difference from the “buffer”.
