Probably going into the shop in the next 30 to 45 minutes to start cleaning the truck for their use. I will see how the shop is faring then. Home seems intact but I've not been outside to inspect the roof. Still no power at the house.

+KiloByte I try to remember to do it. I was an engineering major at one point. I can convert back and forth in my head pretty quickly between Fahrenheit Celsius and Kelvin. The irony is we use Fahrenheit for temperature measurement in the shop and Metric for volume measurement. I do this just to confuse everyone. I believe in equal opportunity confusion.

The guy that delivered my pizza a couple of days ago said he was leaving the state just because he has kids and he didn't want them to have to deal with the storm. my grandma who I'm very close to died this january. I went to take care of her for the last week of her life. her favorite thing to eat in the world was black Walnut divinity candy. the days before I made the 6 hour trip to be with her it rained, and rained, and rained. nonstop. I knew the candy wouldn't set in the rain, but i never knew the scientific reason why. I finally had to try anyway the night before leaving. I'm not sure why, but the thought came to me to boil the sugar longer, and IT WORKED. in some sort of miracle the candy set up and it was one of the last things grandma ate. her smile was worth the effort. it's funny you mention divinity in the video, because I clicked to try and figure out how/ why mine set up in the rain.

John J I make pulled molasses candy and pulling it doesn't give it a sour bite. the biggest difference is a richer brown sugar taste and vanilla flavor when it's pulled- no increased acid taste here

no what i mean is you change the air around the candy, thus you have a CO2 rich atmosphere around it. Thus instead of pulling in a normal air mix like you would you are instead pretty much just adding CO2. Thus the idea is you are carbonating it, and therefor giving it that carbonated feel and taste as well.

I attempted to make hand-pulled cotton candy during days off from the storm, and now I know why it probably cooled too quickly! So glad I found this video; I'll definitely be trying again!
