Hey Dan, I know you don't do motels, but just so your viewers know, when you turned into the Pilot in Santa Rosa, there was a Best Western on the right. This place is a hidden gem. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are first class. Super comfortbale beds and really clean. The staff is accomodating and very friendly. And then, I know you already left, but the fudge in Clines Corners is to die for. Drive safe my friend.

People love to argue over how to use the hours. Some guys won't drive over 8 hours a day to "save hours". It doesn't matter. At the end of the week, you drove the same amount of hours. I like the 34 hours off.

Me and the wife wanted to drive cross country and finally checked it off the bucket list last August. Drove from Va to Gig Harbor Washington; 70 on the way out and basically 90 on the way back. 6400 miles with all the stops. Did the Little Big Horn, Mt Rushmore and Badlands on other various places. If you don't have, the Senior National Park card is a must although I hear it's $70 now. Got ours for $10 a couple of years ago. So, already talking about next August doing it again hopefully running thru the woods more. Would especially like to get on Rt 66. Be safe STD.

Los Alamos, you could not go further away from anywhere. Reason why they picked that place during WWII as a secret military base. Having said that, it is a beautiful town.

In Los Alomos, there is day parking in White Rock, and I think there is parking at the casino in Pojaqui. Las Vegas has a truck stop on the north side of town, there is also a Walmart, but it is 3 miles from the highway. After that, it's Moraity,, Trinidad, or Santa Fe.

I know one thing it was always my plan after I retired from the Fire Service and the Kids were grown I tolerated my wife I wanted to buy a Truck and run the back roads of America and get paid to do it. But there were a few things I didn’t take into consideration and that was Cancer, The Laws Changing so much it’s almost not worth it, Lastly and the Most Important and That’s Grand Children. My Dad and Brother Ran the old Roads, my dad was Raised in San Bernardino so we moved to Michigan in the late Sixties so for him to see his mother and family who he dearly loved he would go for a few months at a time running the west coast so he could pop in and out to see his family but most granny his mama. He Talked about Tucombery I am not sure the spelling of the town but he spoke a lot and now that DNA is out we found a few half Brother and Sisters from different parents.
