That gas tank /jery can ,you could have left the lid on it as filler cap it seal's, easy to open, have the filler pipe welded to the top of the Can,? should look great, thanks for sharing, all the best to you all

I really like the gas can to hide the filler neck. Whoever suggested it was spot on.

Looks more like a water can but doesn't matter for what your using it for.

Run diesel exhaust through any tank or container to be able to safely cut or weld.

hope you some time switch it up and put that tanks filler neck and hose inside a GI can .. add a hidden vent to the tank.. then you can use the GI can's filler neck to fill thru... or hinge the whole can so you tilt top half backward orr?? That way it stays Gi Can looking.

Hey Shawn, you could have drilled a hole in the top of can with a hole saw and put the filler cap and spout up through the can and used the original bolts from the spout just like it bolting in its original spot on the truck. Then get all the clamps in place and set can over it and screw it in place before tacking it in. Might have gave it a little cleaner finished look. Just a thought. Keep up the good work and content!!

Love that truck, mine was a 71 was same Green/White combo that faded just like yours. Wish I still had that truck, easy to work on, easy to find parts for, easy to modify or upgrade all those old trucks

If you hook up exhaust to the hole, have it running, you can cut on it safely, no oxygen to burn!

I just saw the new captain American movie trailer commercial before watching the Shawn show, very interesting actor choices.😮

That old 5 gallon gas can is a really creative idea for a filler neck! I did think when I saw you starting that the can itself was going to add five gallons to the tank under the bed, so I was surprised by what you actually did. Not knocking what you did, it's a cool touch to the look of that old truck. I'm kind of fixated on maximizing fuel capacity is all. My last pickup (small Nissan 4x4, a 1989) came with a 16 gallon tank and I added another 25 gallons to it. Man that 41 gallon capacity would go a thousand miles on interstates!

Looks pretty good. Too bad you couldn't use the original spout from the gas can but I understand why you needed to go the way you did. It's still cool.

Throw in a little water and dry ice, it makes carbon dioxide and displaces all oxygen.

What does water smell like Mike
@scuss28 күн бұрын
Depends on what is in the water. I think he likes the kind with hops, carbonated water and alcohol. Smells like a good time!

I think you should’ve come in from the bottom was just a hole neck coming through
@Tanks-Link4 күн бұрын
Shawn, you should have cut a hole only big enough for the filler hole and then stuck it into from the bottom and mounted it on the inside so only the cap and the filler spout stick through

kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqCkdZaMjdWXebssi=igpGu8vTwkujlGyP Here is the Chevy 3100 for 2025. This fits Hector really well, but you would look really good driving it too! Not too many of the commenters on this video of yours with the gas can, remember when you first got the truck, and the gas can was recommended. That was many Moons back in time. I think it's looking like a sleeper truck. When you finish maybe you and Hector could have a drag race and see who's faster? It would make a great video for sure.

Hey Shawn, your wife needs one of these in your driveway, kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3alh5KebsyGi80si=KRMkJLxxIgBGj3IB Check out Chevys new lineup of 2025 Bel Air series cars and pickups. 3 different engines. I liked the pickup style that looks like a 1957 Chevy, the front grill actually looks like a 1948 Chevy on one of the trims. The car looks like Robby's classic Chevy he drove across the Country last year. They are all impressive. Bose sound system on some models, Check out the fat tires on the rear of all models. Maybe Rory needs one for his retirement rig?
