It’s a beautiful beach. I noticed it’s very windy there. Maybe it’s a surfing paradise! That rental apartment looks like a resort hotel, but it's bigger. It must be fun to stay there! It is a windsurfing beach, Cabarete is host town to some windsurfing competitions. I think windsurfing season begins in Jan. to April, that’s when the winds are strongest in that area of DR.

YES! You guys went out of the resorts... The resorts are fine for a first-time traveler to explore, but once you know the deal, you should 100% travel to other places... DR has mountains, rivers, deserts, and, of course, more than one beautiful beach. Sorry, you had to go through Santo Domingo; that's my city but I must admit is freaking chaos!

True lol Specially the traffic. It has its charm though, both the Colonial Zone and the Modern beautiful areas like the Polígono Central (downtown), the mirador parks, the malecón of the Distrito Nacional, the Malecon of av. España, the botanical garden, etc.

Cabarete was the first city I ever visited in the Dominican Republic. You cannot go wrong planning a vacation here.

Cabarete is the kite capital of the world. Such a nice place, I've been there a couple of times now. The Dominicans are really nice people and they know how to party!

I think the north coast is the best area to explore, your last series in DR made me book and go, although I didn't go to the same places, I did actually go to cabarette and it was amazing .........looking forward to seeing what you do this time.

@@JumpingPlaces Santo Domingo>sosua>cabarette>bocaChica.From Sosua I did day trips to mount isabella, Peurto Plata, and visited beaches . I wish I stayed longer because there seems to be a lot to do and see in peurto plata area and further west.

The cost of taxi from to Punta Cana Bus station to Caribe tour bus station is ok, around 7 dollars is fine, normally minimum taxi is around $5-8, even if it's just to the corner. Uber is cheaper but sometimes Uber drivers don’t want to take the service because they say it has little economic benefit, you can stay way a long time and never comes the Uber drivers. Taxi from Sosua to Cabarete was expensive. It's great with to Ana and Trevol. Ana and Trevol are two Dominicans! Enjoy Rep. Dom is your home!

To travel in the local economy one of you “should” be fluent in Spanish or run the risk of becoming a victim We are 75% capable in Spanish but were quickly overcome trying to use local buses in Lima...fortunately a policeman arrived to prevent us from becoming victims. He took control sorted things out by speaking Spanish clearly and slowly to get us safely on our way to the beach......we did not try that again...

I think you still run the risk either way since travelers simply don't know the prices of things in foreign countries. We actually understood pretty much everything they were saying but we don't know the prices of things since its not our country. Even when we travel to english speaking countries we still face this same issue since we don't know what the correct price should be

Just spent 14 days in Dom Rep and will never go back, the way English speaking tourist cheated everywhere we went on our island tour it became exhausting. I'm from Jamaica and we do the same but this was 10 times worse it's cheap food is good in some places but the constant trying to not be overcharged for everything was too much never met a more dishonest people. Don't go if you don't speak Spanish or understand it
