Siyeon is, in my books, definitely one of the top female vocalists in kpop. The way she delivers always stirs that something within me, be it energy, dreamy, etc. Entrancing is my favourite solo song by Dreamcatcher, mainly for the feels it gives me.

Completely agree about Siyeon. I usually put 'among the' top female vocalists in the world just to avoid dissing other fandoms, but who am I kidding? Siyeon all the way. I've never seen another human being who was so obviously put on earth to do one thing and one thing only, to sing in front of an audience. She's never fully alive unless she's on that stage, and when she's not performing she can't wait to get back out there. Sometimes very rarely the DNA lottery creates perfection, and that perfection is Siyeon. Amazing when she sings other composers songs, but when she sings her own songs, Paradise and Entrancing, it goes to another level. If her company was really paying attention they would have made her a part of their songwriting team. Sometimes I think the company doesn't really know what they have in Siyeon. If she'd been born in America or Europe, she'd be a mega star by now, but she's happy with her sisters and that's probably where she belongs.

I don't know how many times I've listened to this, but your comments about traditional instruments gave me pause and made me really scrutinize the music. I'm not 100% sure if there are traditional instruments in this song. Maybe some flute, but even that can't be certain. For sure, it's a nice orchestral arrangement and use of classical instruments, though. Can we give some kudos to their back-up dancers, especially for this album. Many of them (all of them?) had to learn the choreo for each song on this track. Even the members only had to learn the choreo for the title track and their own solo piece.

This one was THE CRAZIEST thing I can remember coming from DC simply because Siyeon is so serious about being a Rock Vocalist. JiU was predictable with her SWEETHEART vocals and even the subject of her solo song, Cherry, the love of her life. SuA was somewhat predictable. Choreographing her own stuff with her patented 'she really do be wildin' style, her planning and training, getting a more EDM sound than DC's usual Rock flavor (but she is widely known as an all-rounder, so really no surprise with her). Dongie's solo was not much of a surprise including the part where she sings in THREE languages. The biggest surprise for me was her playing Piano at the beginning but I should have known she could do that, since I know she also can play Drums. Yoohyeon's solo was a slight surprise. I was not expecting a 1920's /30's/ 40's sound from her but of course whatever she would have done would have been just fine with me. Dami's solo was a surprise; I did not know that she identified with Avril so much. That was really cool! Gahyeon's solo was no surprise at all, turned out really cute and was almost as K-Pop as anybody has ever K-Popped before. It was SO out-of-left-field for me when 'Entrancing' dropped! I mean, I was truly shocked that Siyeon would have this for her solo on the album. She already did 'Paradise' (and the Piano version, of course). Many of her covers are 'soft' songs. But Siyeon was actually in a Rock band while she was in school and one thing she hated so much about being in Minx was that it was just NOT Rock. She LOVES being a Rock Vocalist! So I really thought she would have gone full Rock for her solo but now here we are. It's a total 180 from what I was expecting of her. NO complaints at all about this, mind you. Not complaining about her skills of course, no complaints about the wonderful job she did with her miraculous vocal prowess. Just the SURPRISE got me. I think she meant to do that, too; she really got me good with that. :)
