Except for the one ring, McCarthy is the Buck Showalter of the NFL. If Mikey couldn't go deep in the the post season some some of the rosters he had in Dallas and could only get one trophy with those GB rosters, he ain't going to do squat as the Bears HC. I get ya'll gotta talk about this but $500 he's a more of the same, where ever he suckers into hiring him.

Aaron Rodgers credits McCarthy in his development. Rodgers is Caleb's QB hero. Caleb is one of the most powerful members of the organization. Something could happen fast here.

Why is Ben Johnson the consenus best coach available? He has no head coaching experience and has less experience as a coordinator than Matt Eberflus had. Now im not saying Pete Carrol, Mike McCarthy, Ron Rivera, and potentially someone like Mike Tomlin would come in and win coach of the year and take us to a SuperBowl in the next 3 years, but any one of them would have better odds than the unproven guy. Its easy for a locker room to lose faith in an up and coming coach when they have a bad game. The proven path that has worked in the past is something that the players buy into, even without recent success. You dont see locker rooms under those guys fall apart like we saw under a Nagy or Eberflus here.

Fox has zero offense if he can’t win a game by running the ball 90% of the time. McCarthy’s offense can get bland at times, but it’s still at least effective in 2025.

McCarthy was a 'genius' when he had prime Rogers. Remember the season when the Bears broke Rogers' collar bone. The Packers were terrible for the rest of the season.

Bears fans want to shoot for the stars with an offensive coordinator who MIGHT be a great head coach. McCarthy is a proven, winning head coach who will fix the culture and has a track record of developing and making QBs play great football. You know what you’re getting with McCarthy and I would be completely fine with him as the next HC.

@ again that’s an unknown and when you say Bears need to go in a new direction - outside of Fox they always hired coordinators and hoped for the best. That hasn’t worked out. I would be excited for Ben Johnson but McCarthy made just about every QB play their best ball for him. You can say Rodgers was just special, you can say Dak is just a great QB… what about Cooper Rush this year and what about Matt Flynn who got paid because of the time he had with McCarthy? And never played as well after leaving Green Bay. The dude is a PROVEN QB whisperer and a proven HC and that’s what this team needs more than anything.

@ how were they in their prime? Mike McCarthy became head coach in Green Bay in 2006. Aaron Rodgers got drafted in 2005.. dak statistically has had his best years under McCarthy. McCarthy is not the problem in Dallas. It’s the owner.btw I’ll take the clock management issues here and there for a for a guy that can actually run an offense unlike any bears coach on the last 20 years

As for Dak.... 2016 through 2019 Dak put up amazing numbers. Pretty sure he threw for 4000 in a season before McCarthy even got there. Not saying McCarthy isn't a solid coach but the developing QBs angle is a little weak imo. Either way, let's see what the Bears do.

@MCfact1827 First of all, Mccarthy best coaching days are behind him. His stint with Dallas was not good, considering all the talent on that team. Since 2022, Ben Johnson has had the top 5 offensive in every season. 2-1 in the playoffs as coordinator and in 2024 coached 2 wide receivers and running backs with over 1000 scrimmage yards. Those results speak volumes in any coaching search.

No coach is going to fix Caleb. It's been widely reported he doesn't do the work. You can tell his teammates don't like him. He has zero pocket presence and panics at the slightest bit of pressure. My bears have done it again. They drafted the wrong quarterback and that alone is reason enough for Poles to be fired.
