don't forget to change out the brake proportioning valve when you switch over to disc brakes on the front. back in the 70's i did the same swap and fortunately my high school auto shop teacher explained what needed to be done to get it to stop straight. otherwise i was seriously thinking about putting the drums back on

is the 401 crank .steel forged like the 390s,??? and those heads are supposed to flow really well-- for headers i ordered the American racing headers ...ugh everything is so expensive..but those also took 4/5 months i called and asked for a update .. and said . you guys must be being really really careful because you tig welding 1 pipe every week in a half LOL

@@4speedkid i had a 1969 javelin back in 1987 with the 390 and put a offenhauser 2x4 on it rebuilt bigger cam/headers ect ( i ordered the intake from Jc whitney 0 And always wanted one again -- so got another 1969 javein but with the 290... yanked that out and had a guy Sc397 Build me a 390--oiling mods under the intake ect but resto modding it with updated running gear and tranny and blah blah blah .. ( living on costco pallets of top ramen) because my old javelin Used to break the automatic tranny constantly and i spun the axles ( but then you could goto a junk yard and find them ) This time .....im making it so stuff wont break ( crosses fingers. ) love your build man .. looking forward to the progress. .Im jealous --- but i have a hard time leaving things stock
