Absolutely do not give a second thought when people leave nasty or snarky comments. I am 73 now and I thank God we did not have social media years ago. People can be so cruel. Live your life like you want. You are kind nice people and you hurt no one. I enjoy your show because it gives me a chance to see scenery and a life style that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy otherwise. God bless you both.

I saved a sheeps life tonight, just over an hour ago, it was the only brown one in a large field of whatever breed the others were, but it was on its back, legs in the air, and barely moving. I though of your sheep, they look so placid things. By the time I got over to the sheep that was upside down I was knac.... breathless, asked it if it was still alive and it twitched, its eyes were rolled back, so I just grabbed two handfulls of thick woolly fur and yanked it over, my plan was to hold it for a few seconds so it could recover a bit, but it was too strong, it pulled me over onto the wet grass, it fell over again, then it was off like a Red Rum sheep. Hope your both up and running again soon. Great channel - and inspirational.

Your seedlings have to HAVE TO HAVE HEAT AND SUNLIGHT , It is very necessary, or they won't amount to much of anything. The heat below the plant is necessary for germination. I worked at a plant nursery for many years. We used a heating pad meant for plants. Herbs are extremely hard to start without warmth.

So many reasons I could never do what you're doing....mostly, people and their silly comments. The Man in the Arena poem. Anyone who has time to sit behind/in front of a screen and criticize others actually living life and working hard, has issues. I"m glad you can get on with it and do what works for your. 38.9K subscribers, not bad at all! Each time I watch an episode (sometimes I watch more than once!), I realize I am experiencing Fernweh! Their wing spans alone are amazing and the way they effortlessly glide is jaw dropping. I'm glad you shared your encounter with the golden eagle so I thought you would appreciate that it brought back a beautiful and heart warming 45 year old memory to me. Once in a lifetime to have a great horned owl do that. I wish I had seen a golden eagle as close as you did, it would have been terrifying and amazing.

Dear Scott and Katie, I believe you would love the books of Derek Tangye. Derek and Jeannie left their wealthy social life in London to go back to their roots in Cornwall in the 1980s, to a derelict off grid cottage remote from any road, with 2 cats and 2 donkeys! They discovered the true meaning of happiness and solitude. Deceased now their fans have a website called Friends of Minack, and The Minack Chronicles can still be bought second hand.

Your channel is the only one my husband watches with me and really enjoys as much as I do! He noticed your new foot pump has a gauge on it that should be measuring the pressure in what you’re inflating. Do your tires there have tire pressure recommendations on them? Keep fishing and eventually you’ll catch something! When I was about 13, my cousins and I went fishing in the lake beside where our extended family had bought some land. We fished off the docks all the time and sometimes went out in a boat. Usually we caught nothing, but that day I caught over 50 fish. My cousin Mark caught 35. My cousin Tim caught 32. My cousin Tom caught 18. My brother kept coming out to our boat in another boat and taking them back to our great-grandparents, who scaled and cut off the heads and tailes and generally prepared them for freezing. The whole extended family, the 20 of us that were there, had a fish dinner than night! I’ve never had such a catch again. We were kids, using fishing rods. Finally: sorry about the camera being delayed! That’s so frustrating.

Oh, Scott, you make me laugh... 😂🤣 I'm not one of those who thinks you don't do anything. You've got to admit, though, Katie isn't backward in chipping in and doing her fair share... 🙂👍 I love you, Scott, because you're a cat man; I'm crazy about cats‼️ 😍😻🐾

It's been freezing where I am and my seedlings took an age to come up (well, the kale popped up and then promptly got eaten by snails). But even though it's still pretty cold, they've all come up now. I raised them in a mini greenhouse (plastic) with fleece underneath and on top, and they seem pretty happy. An option, perhaps? Must be lovely to have good weather and sunshine up there.

I'd be happy to, anytime. I started by just sitting and treddling to get a steady rhythm. Then got myself some fleece, washed it and when dry i hand carded it into rolags. I advise watching lots of KZbin videos. Before you know it you'll be hooked. 😊😊 @TheScottishIsle

😅I do not have problems with deer and sheep, but birds shreds my seedlings so that there were only stalks left. So I bought a couple of toy snakes and so far it seems to be working. Some of the beans are showing new leaf growth. 👏👏

My friend put an inflatable snake in her garden. One day she went home from work to a mangled snake. The old guy who lived next door shot it! Hilarious.

Scott & Katie, I love your channel and adorable pets, but at 85 I no longer have the resources to donate to my favourite channels sadly, my first ever comment was on the ‘Outlander’ channel some ten years ago, I received a real hate mail, my dear husband had recently passed away, and I had just come out of hospital with a second heart attack, when I challenged that stranger I received an apology, but once something is said it can’t be unsaid, I believe if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all, life is now too short to worry about small minded people who seem to dislike everyone, I was once told by a gentleman it is because they have never had any love in their lives, and have very low self esteem, that didn’t make me feel any better at the time though …… anyway God willing for a wee while longer I’ll keep watching my favourite channels and enjoy Scott’s sense of humour and Katie your endless patience with him:) blessings to you both from an english rose 🥀 in the Derby’s Dales 🤗

Hi Katie, these hoops are great! I use simalar ones when the plants are young :) You can also buy your own roll of netting shade and make them longer /wider etc.. They also come in clear plastic for winter, and then acts as a greenhouse. You can get a lot of things done with DIY orbisland fixes ;) I've used upside down glass jars as individual greenhouses and to protect my plants from frosty mornings. I was amazed how my sugar snaps lived through it all. Best of luck with your gardening!

Katie, I don't remember seeing that castle-style spinning wheel in your kitchen before! Has it been there? (My memory is worthless.) Do you spin? Will you spin? It's lovely. It's so easy for people who don't have a channel to not realize that "somebody" has to do hours of editing to make a nice video. And the filming also takes lots of time. Every time I see a little montage of Scott driving the quad from various angles, I think of all the time he spent getting off, moving the camera, backing up, driving again, etc. But maybe it's part of the humorous schtick of this channel to pretend that Scott doesn't get his hands dirty? We know that's not true :) I think people prefer to watch you doing things, rather than sitting and talking. Except perhaps for a bit at the end -- it's a nice ending. But not the whole time. Hard to say!

Lo 22:56 ve fishing too. Could you try for early morning or near dusk? I miss the lovely mackerel from Scotlands west coast. Was born there but now live in New Zealand. Warmer, dryer but just as beautiful. We dont have the hisoric buildings and castles and miss that so much. Its such a lovely dive back into my childhood looking at your stunning videos. Thank you for sharing.

Katie it turned out fantastic you did a great job on the sauerkraut. I tried it and mine turned out really good too. Thank you for doing the video on it. Guine hens go after ticks like crazy too and I think they would probably take on a Morton if it tried to go after them
