It's looking better every time you two are working on the shooting range. It's going to be great when it's done. Looking forward to seeing it in use when completed. That Skidding wench and accessories is awesome. Makes work seem so much easier and safer once you get use to working with the power of persuasions tools like that, thanks for the great demonstrations you both shared with us. Stay safe and keep up the good work and videos. Fred.

Great points made in your review of the skidding winch. Hopefully the manufacturer acts on your feedback which i think is super practical and also wouldn't add a ridiculous amount of time or materials cost in the manufacturing process.

Hi Gord, another great video. I never thought I needed a skidding winch but watching how easy that made the work plus the nicebrear ballast solution has changed my mind. That self releasing block is a great feature. Love it. Going to have to check the farm fun fund and see if can do same. Really impressive implement. I definitely underestimated it’s utility

Usually buy the grapple first. You can get a worksaver for half the price and it’s more usable. Having said that if you have steep land the skidder is much better. Also the self releasing pulley is good if you have more money then you kno what to do with. You can get a non release for $30 that works fine.

LOL. Thanks - I did. It was the very first attachment I got for the tractor back in 2017. I think sometimes folks don't realize that these sub and compact tractors have a very narrow footprint, which makes them very tippy on the various slopes in the forest. Cheers and thanks again!

Good day Tom! You bet - Koda was off in the meadow. Guy is not sure what happened but since last fall he has become hesitant to come into the forest. He used to be right with us all the time, but now he just sits outside the trail waiting for us to come out. Kind of odd. Thanks!

@@GPOutdoors Thanks Gord I couldn’t remember his name Koda another old timers moment lol something must have happened to scare him when Mr Higgins our old sheep dog was just a pup and I was splitting kidlings ? One piece flew and hit him not very hard but to this day if I am out in the shed and pickup the axe he goes right to the house and he will be 10 years old this fall they don’t forget okay big story buddy thanks for letting me know about Koda take care

I can still recall the welding Guy did on the log trailer build.....he did a great job, because with the amount of load on that trailer, it's holding up with no problem, so far. Great to have a friend to work with on a project like that, and it's a much safer way than working alone.

Hi Gord, like the speed of winch and the break a way. Was wondering if you knew anything of the hydraulic remote control winch by Industries Renault Gravel Inc? I have one and like it! The winch is slower but I think much safer, you can operate it from where you hook the logs with the remote making it one man job, still have to be careful you can stand the tractor up if pulling to mulch and the break a ways don’t always release. Stay safe, go slow!
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Morning Chris. No, I have not heard of them - this winch has an optional remote control for it as well. Thanks for the info!

LOL! No, they don't chase you but they are kind of dopey - they fly into you all the time. Got hit right in the eye last night driving back to the cabin on my ATV. But , they serve an important purpose. They eat the black flies and deer flies. So, we like 'em :)) Have a great night!
